I read today we only have 900 weeks of childhood with our children before they leave home. It struck me to make more intentional moments with them. The only thing this kid wants is balloons and a date to Target, not to mention lots of leg hugs! Little do we know that many singular moments end up being moments of growth. However inconvenient it may seem at the time. Virginia Satir wisely pointed out “We need 4 hugs a day for survival, 8 hugs a day for maintenance, and 12 hugs a day for growth.”

Hi Shalice!! I meant to comment about this post a few days ago, and well here I am. I am a new mommy and knowing that I only have 900 weeks with my little boy makes me sad, but also makes me think about that as tired as I am after work. I have to push myself to play with him and make funny faces and of course kiss him and hug as much as I can. Thank you for posting this.
