Talbots

As many of you know, we recently moved to a new area. On this particular day, Reid and I explored some new date night spots and admired the beautiful architecture. We found both! Speaking of good finds, I’m loving these Chanel-inspired looks from Talbots. I’ve already worn this knit multiple times, especially at my kids’ school parent practicum, and received lots of compliments. Have you tried their shoes? These metallic Mary Janes are a must-have! Wear them like a neutral. Which look, 1 or 2, is your favorite?

You know what’s funny? I’ve been totally obsessed with trench coats lately, and Reid won’t let me forget it! But hey, can you blame me? They’re all so different – some sheer, some maxi, and this one here? It’s got this awesome pop of orange that caught my eye. Super fun, right? The orange ties and collar add this unexpected bit of whimsy, perfect for spring vibes. So, what do you reckon? Would you give it a go?

What’s better than love month in the middle of the winter? I love the heart shaped pancakes, Sugarfina treats and yes, a cozy “love” sweatshirt. While I’m the first to admit that I haven’t mastered the art of heart shaped pancakes, I am very good at styling the best pieces from Talbots (which are 25% off today!) like this green army jacket and Chanel like flats. How cute right?

I’m excited to partner with Talbots for the T by Talbots line and share a little more about my personal wellness journey. I became motivated to live a healthy lifestyle when I realized how good I felt when I ate healthy and how bad I felt when I slipped into unhealthy eating habits. As a busy mom, nutrition and fitness routines have become habits in my active lifestyle not only making me healthier, but helping me feel better and giving me more energy! Therefore, limiting foods that have no nutritional benefit and staying active has been really key for us. These lifestyle habits are also a powerful influence for my kids’ training as they model what I eat and do.

Some of my daily routines are as follows:

1. Every morning I start my day with a glass of celery juice.

2. I drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.  If not  my skin will look dull without enough H20.

3. I take liquid collagen, calcium and vitamin C supplements daily. I prefer liquid because it is 90% absorption versus 30% for powder.

4.  I fix leafy green salads with sunflower seeds, avocado, feta, olives and a lean protein, drizzled in homemade balsamic dressing.

5.  To curve cravings, I snack on high fiber energy balls between meals.  I’m sharing the no-bake recipe below.  My kids rave over these and watch out, because they disappear fast! Delicious!!!

I always look out for easy recipes packed with protein (almond butter) and fiber (chia seeds and oatmeal). Energy balls seem to fit the bill.  We can thank the chia seeds which are loaded with antioxidants, fiber, protein and are high in Omega-3 fatty acids. Eating healthy has never tasted so good.

Here’s the recipe below!

 ENERGY BALLS

1 cup of organic oats (I grind in my cuisinart)

1/2 cup of chocolate chips

1/3 cup of chia seeds

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup almond butter, crunchy

1/2 teaspoon Himalayan salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Mix the above and mold into 1 inch balls. Place on a pan or plate into the freezer for one hour or 10 minutes if you’re like us and can’t wait!

How cool is this cobalt top from T by Talbots?  The pops of color, flattering shade of blue and perfect length make it a perfect pairing with this skort for errands or a neighborhood walk. I’m also loving these crop pants and zip ankle leggings for squats or lounging. Which is your favorite piece?

Thank you Talbots for sponsoring this post! All opinions my own.

Which was your favorite look?

There are 4 classics every closet needs.

A good stripe sweater – I prefer it to have mostly white, I’m wearing a small here

A red Trench

A red heel

Cropped jeans (they highlight the shoes better) I’m wearing a 2p here

I’ve been clearing out my closet A LOT lately so pairing things down to just the basics is très importantè. These four classics I name “classics” only because I keep going back to them. I even dress my kids in stripes – I cannot get enough. Nothing is better than topping it off with a red trench. What I love about Talbots is consistent great quality and some lovely pieces. See my other post wearing Talbots here and here.  Which is your favorite piece? All the best! xx Shalice

I’m currently at New York Fashion Week and there is no denying flares are a fall musthave. A 70’s revival of sorts. Thankfully, I kept a lot of my flares and bells from high school and college. Way to think ahead right? Or, maybe I need to practice more spring cleaning. Yikes. Either way, flares give that effortless chic vibe. Here, I’m sporting the Talbot’s Flawless 5-pocket paired with chambray. A combination I can’t get enough of. See more of their Flawless 5 Pocket Jeans for more info. Now back to dodging the rain at NYFW!
