Some days – scratch that, most days I want the easiest outfit I can wear to run errands- sneak in a meeting and make it on time for school pick up. Yes, most days the latter is a miracle. I must admit, there are also the delightful parts of being a mom of four – each child has a distinct humor, character and it’s so fun when they make you laugh and cover you in hugs! I mean where else can you get all that under one roof? I’m wearing all black, my fave ripped denim jacket, black boots and a market bucket bag to hold flowers and my credit card. I mean, what else does a girl need?

With the holidays in full swing, we have been busy baking all the bread and cookies for teachers and friends and decking the halls. Read lots of fun and messes. If we go out, it’s usually in flats and simple accessories. Namely, I’m loving this faux fur stole, taupe crossbody bag, and glitter slides all from SOLE SOCIETY. A Day at Veuve Cliquot Polo Classic with Sole Society

After a relaxing morning at the photogenic Santa Monica based Palihouse Hotel, I, and fellow LA bloggers, were whisked off to hair and make-up. Shortly after, we arrived at the beautiful Rosé garden and were given two glasses and a whole bottle of Veuve Cliquot bubbly champagne. No complaints there. I loved exploring the various pop-ups, gorgeous floral walls and exciting polo match. A first for me! There was seriously a photo-op at every turn and the floral was stunning! Can you say chic? Thankfully, I was wearing the comfiest Sole Society heels so I could enjoy every moment. I can’t wait for next year!

Truth be told, I usually shy away from pink. Even my six year-old doesn’t want her classmates to know if she owns any pink for fear she’ll loose her edge. Whatever her reason, mine doesn’t seem far off. I gravitate to the black ensemble and accessories, hence my Sole Society choices, but I’ll admit I love them styled with a pop of pink. Few things in the fashion world excite me more than denim and trench coats. Here’s one of my favorite layer combinations: stripe turtleneck, trench, and denim cutoffs, minus the chunky knit of course. I will save the latter for my next trip to New York. Until then, I’m stocking up on striped turtlenecks for LA’s chill winter, which is mostly dry heat and overwhelming sun. I’m certainly not complaining. Happy Fashion Week guys!
