Anthropologie is having their 20% off everything sale, so I’m making a rare weekend appearance here on the blog to tell you. Anthropologie has been a long time favorite of mine from unique shoes, to throws for the cabin, gorgeous couches, and perennial favorite dresses. Did you know, one of me and Reid’s first dates was at his roommate’s wedding? I was wearing a black Anthropologie dress and so beautiful. Amazing how a good dress can put you in a good mood. Ironically, I caught the bouquet that summer night and we were married the following spring. So, is Anthropologie a perennial favorite of mine for around 20 years? Absolutely. Scroll down for some of my hand picked favorites for 20% off today. Which are your favorites?

I’m still NOT over leopard. Last week I scored this leopard duster on the Shopbop sale and haven’t looked back. The length was my main motivation for buying it and the softness, well that was the cherry on top! I got tons of compliments on it when I wore it Sunday. Since this one is in low stock, I’m posting more below:

Someone recently asked me, faux leather pants/leggings versus real leather and vice versa? I have to say, the curated wardrobe needs both. Here, I’m wearing faux leather leggings for soccer practice, a quick coffee run, and overall comfort. When I wear real leather pants , I’m usually going out. They’re more structured and the material is thicker. I wear them with a drapey tunic, or a sequin top for more drama.

If you are going to invest in leather pants, opt for high waisted. These are cute and I included some real leather options below:

Here’s my outfit details from today’s post!

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you may have already seen this. But if you’re like most people, we want to spend smarter in 2019. Do you agree? I did some research and found the 7 ways to spend less in 2019 from cutting your latte intake to staying in. Read on!

1. Say goodbye to joe.According to research, average American’s spends approx 1,100$ or $3 a day on coffee

Even if you just buy a $2 latte four days a week, you’d still have spent $6,149.98 after 10 years.

2. Stop collecting, start selling. There are some great sites out there where you can sell your goods: eBay, Poshmark, ReBag, etc.

3. Turn off the TV. According to research, you’ll save more than just on your electricity bill. You will be exposed to less spend inducing ads, end your cable coverage, focus on other things like a side gig, etc.

4. Stick to your list. Just ask Reid, I’m horrible at his, but when I stick to the list I save myself from the last minute impulse buys!

5. Break out the crock or insta pot. I just bought my first insta pot cookbook!

6. Going out or staying in. STAY IN! Save lots of benjamins when you stay in!

7. Cancel the gym membership you don’t use. download an app and do it with a friend for accountability

What about you, what ways are you spending smarter in 2019? I’d love to hear!

Don’t let my smile fool you, this week was tough getting back from vacation and back into our routine (somewhat) and lots of laundry. Thankfully, park days and our sitter have been my saving grace. It takes some time to find that “back to normal” after being away for 2 weeks over the holidays. I’m excited to share with you some new content I’m often asked what are my top 5 closet must haves, so here they are are including my bonus favorite, leopard skirt!

1. Denim (this is very hard to pick only one!)

2. (faux) Leather pants

3. Body Suit

4. Nude Heels (sandals and pumps)

5. Sunglasses

Bonus: Turquoise ring, something leopard, and a one shoulder top

I’m sharing a couple styling tips I use myself. To be honest, it’s not everyday I feel 100% in an outfit. It takes lots of trial and error to get an outfit right for an event, occasion, or the blog. When I don’t feel like wearing anything but pajama pants, aka having an ‘off’ day, I use the following tips:

1. Nude heels elongate the leg, making you appear taller.

2. A Belt – Cinching the waist is the easiest way to creating shape.

3. Pointed Toe shoes and boots – believe it or not, a pointed toe boot, heel or flat also elongates the legs, making you appear taller and therefore slimmer.

4. Wear monotone colors – for example, wear a let’s say black turtleneck with a black pencil skirt underneath a cozy shearling coat or colorful blazer. Instant slimming! No protein shakes, 35 min stair steps, or exhausting cardio required. Sound convincing?

THIS designer was onto something, chevron is an incredibly flattering shape. See my  top chevron picks here.
