Our Trip to NYC

by Shalice Noel

Why we went

Myself, Reid and Levi are in New York city all week for work meetings and reunions with friends. It wasn’t easy leaving the four older siblings at home, but I worry less knowing they’re in good hands with my dad watching them. Funny enough, we really miss the kids help with Levi. My oldest is so helpful changing his diapers and holding him so I have a little break. This week, I had some really exciting meetings, more of which I can share later. It was a highlight to be able to meet up with my friend Laura from Brooklyn, and do a little shopping in Soho. I forgot how good the NYC shopping is and HOW GOOD the style here is. The NYC girl surely knows how to dress: from classic trench coats, to simple totes, and stunning boots. See below what I wore, and where we ate. Let me know in the comments if I missed anything. Next visit, Guggenheim is on the list! Can’t wait to go back.

What I wore:

paper bag shorts similar // sweater (only $25.99!) // red sandals // earrings

Thanks for stopping by. xx Shalice

It’s an emergency. We are out of almond milk, so I’m having a straight up Nespresso coffee and collagen this morning.

Girls my peasant top I love wearing is now 40% off! Also the earrings I’ve been wearing lately are down to $52. So many good sale packs from the Nordstrom half yearly sale go check it out. I can’t believe even the gray wedge sandals I featured recently are under $50. I also I’m looking forward to wearing this white lace dress with a leather jacket, it’s on SALE too, only $66!

Outfit details: white jeans (I love the slight ankle flare!) // sandals in “gray leather”// graphic tee and similar // utility jacket (I sized up to a medium for an oversize look) // purse and similar // sunglasses similar

Also this dress is great to attend to a wedding, minus the white color obviously. Thanks for reading, I hope you found some goodies!

Shalice

For me, a peasant top is a non-negotiable in a girl’s wardrobe. A quality one is hard to find. I like it to be heavy, not too lightweight, a tie, eyelet detail is fun, and THE FIT MUST BE PERFECT. That is non-negotiable. Seem like an impossible task? Well apparently it is not. I found it in this Frame top that is currently on sale at Shopbop. Score!

peasant top // wedgie jeans (mine are a little more worn out) // sandals // sunnies (chloe) // bag c/o Tamara Mellon // earrings (embarrassing, but I wear these every day!) Similar Turquoise Ring and here

This new bag from Tamara Mellon, who originally founded Jimmy Choo, fits my water bottle, wipes, and feels like AMAZING nubby leather. The color here is bone, which I was totally on the fence about. I’ll admit I’m a camel bag junkie and even tried on the camel and black colors. But you know which one won me over? BONE. Love the unusual color to my handbag collection. It can be worn three ways and deep enough to fit a laptop or chipotle burrito. Just kidding. It converts to a tote using the handles, cross body bag or shoulder bag. How cool is that?

I have a new post on the blog today featuring the NUFACE SALE and SHOPBOP SALE, don’t miss it! As always, my shop page is open 24/7 and as always, ask any questions! Here or at shalice@shalicenoel.com. I don’t mind your “hey, where is that from,” quick messages.

Happy two days before FRIDAY!

peasant top I’m wearing a small // slim fit boyfriend jeans and here (I went down two sizes and they’re so flattering!) // woven booties //

I get some of the sweetest DM’s from you – my followers! I get some regarding family, diet, home and fashion. Here’s a sample below!

How do you take the walking pictures in the middle of the street?

We wait till the cars pass, it’s usually not too crazy on the weekends!

How do you make your energy balls?

I’ll admit I’m addicted and I don’t even freeze them anymore. I eat them raw not frozen. Blend in a cuisanart 1 cup whole oats and 3 T dark chocolate chunks. Add to that 1/2 cup honey, 2 t. cinnamon and 1/2 cup almond butter. Freeze for 30min if you have the will power. More than I do.

What is the brand of collagen you use?

Vital Proteins collagen powder. I’ve been almost using it for a year. It’s been so good for my hair and nails.

If you could get one Nuface device which would it be?

Oh that’s hard! The Mini and Trinity are my top 2. The mini is great for a smaller travel friendly option and trinity has the attachments to target specific areas like wrinkles with the red light and two prongs to target lip and laugh lines. Stay tuned for a friends and family sale!

Are Golden Goose sneakers ever on sale?

Yes! occasionally! See below.

I don’t wanna pay full price, any good designer sales?

crop jumpsuit (runs large, chose one size down) // blazer // my bag in “cameo rose” or in black // sandals in “Rose Smoke Nubuck Leather”

If you read my blog often, you’ve definitely seen me talk about Vince Camuto. It’s hands down one of my favorite brands and I’m always keeping an eye out for new things to add to my closet from them. Their footwear is something I’m especially loving right now. The designs are fashion-forward and most importantly, comfortable! I mean, how cute are these sandals I’m wearing?
Honestly, I’m often on Nordstrom online browsing their shoes and will always stop at a Vince Camuto pair not even knowing its Vince Camuto. Their styles are that good! Maybe it’s their attention to detail, colors and flattering designs that earn their fan base. I must admit I am among them. One of my favorite pairs of booties in my closet is from Vince Camuto. It has a perfect pointy toe!
As far as the outfit I’m wearing, though, it’s so versatile! I love a comfortable jumpsuit – it’s practical for chasing after the kids but also stylish. You can also swap the tie belt for a large wooden buckle option. Plus, a good sandal is priceless in my book. And let’s not forget that nothing says spring like this blush jumpsuit, versatile white blazer and flattering sandals. How cute is this bag? I hope it doesn’t end up with cheerios in it.

Thank you Vince Camuto for sponsoring this post!

boots // bag c/o Furla and similar // jeans // top // blazer

Every Monday needs a power suit and I’m loving one in all white. Don’t forget the tide stick. Top it off with on trend snake boots, and a black textured bag. The jeans have a slight flare at the hem, perfect for featuring these cute boots.

More blazers below in white and off-white options

More snakeskin options:

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved wide leg pants. It’s the only thing besides a blazer that makes me feel like a true boss. I found these pants for a crazy price point recently and felt like I wouldn’t be a friend if I didn’t share. We are headed to Lake Arrowhead this weekend to enjoy the long Easter weekend. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I miss family and worry Levi doesn’t have any grandparents nearby. But thankful for this time of growth for our family and that HE IS RISEN! There is hope in the midst of whatever you are facing.

Wear the same color bottom (pants) as the top, it’s more flattering

Wear nude sandals or heels, they elongate the legs

Avoid super salty foods that makes you hold onto water

Fact: Everyone looks better with a tan (I find tan towels or towelettes easier to use but everyone has a different tanning favorite)

Happy Easter!

Just add snakeskin

by Shalice Noel

snakeskin blouse // white jeans // white mules // camel coat // snakeskin trench coat //

I’m giving leopard a break ftm, and giving the snakeskin trend a go.

There are a bunch of affordable options I provide below. Styling tip: pair it with neutrals like a camel coat and white or black jeans.

After all, a pop of snakeskin is a perfect addition to your spring ensemble. What do you think?

Stripe long sleeve top // Ankle strap sandal // Trench Coat // Wide Leg Pants (only $14!) // Chloe Faye larger or Chloe Backpack // Similar Chloe Sunglasses // Sandals

It’s that time of year when I’m scoping out everything spring. I was pleasantly surprised recently to find so many good things at Walmart.com! Have you checked out their selection? There are tons of fun pieces that are super affordable, which makes it really easy to try out new trends this season. I picked up quite a few pieces and wanted to share them to give you a little peek at what’s happening over on Walmart’s website.

More wide leg pant options:

My pants, stripe tee, trench coat, and sandals are all from Walmart! Loving the pants a lot because they’re a wide leg, which I wear all the time and love. The stripe tee is a good staple that I know I’m going to get so much wear out of. As for the trench, who doesn’t love a good trench coat? They’re classic and perfect for layering up during the spring. I currently have a few of them hanging in my closet, but if you need something affordable and basic, this option from Walmart.com is definitely the one to start out with.
What are you guys shopping for this spring? Are you looking for basics or trends? Whatever it is, if you want to keep it at an affordable price point, I highly recommend checking out Walmart’s online selection – there’s a lot of really good things happening!

Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post!
