Everyone needs a luxe piece that will upgrade any look. I could not stop wearing this one over fashion week. It went with everything and brought an edge to my usual black ensemble.  I just found the sweetest bow dress under $80. I paired it with an edgy leather jacket and buckle pumps. I plan to wear this ensemble to celebrate the hubs birthday this weekend, which will involve lots of dark chocolate desserts, Chinese food and homemade cards from the kids. All of his favorite things. LA has been feeling a lot like NYC lately and I’m not complaining. The days are cool-ish, slightly overcast, and oh-so-cozy. I’ll take any excuse to layer – preferably with a sweatshirt dress and leather jacket. Both of which work for date night. I’m all about an effortless (i.e. 5 minute) look because life is busy and once that sitter is through the door, so am I. I know I said “cozy” … but definitely try and stay away from the Christmas print flannels and oversize college sweatshirts. Instead, it’s all about balancing luxe details (like a leather jacket) with cozy basics (like this sweatshirt pullover) that fit and feel perfect.

Your search for the perfect blush pleated skirt is over. Not only is this modern on-trend blush steal under $100, but it’s machine washable. No really, true story. After my toddler hugged me after playing in a backyard full of dirt, I made sure to find out. There might have been a little desperation involved. So, I know. I have plans to get a couple of outfits out of this versatile piece, such as all white, frayed denim and even sneaks! The possibilities prove endless. However, if you want a pro-stylist tip, balance the midi skirt with a fitted top, preferably knotted or slightly cropped and avoid tall boots and loose tops … all of which are at Nordstrom, of course. Get yours before it sells out.
