I’m always on the lookout for great basics for less, and Express is killing it in the basics department. I’m not only a proud owner of this awesome stripe button up, but I also found some classic ripped jeans and gray frayed jeans as well. But I think the big find of the night was their jersey pant. Folks, write this down. They have the cozy feel of yoga pants but manage to look board meeting ready with flats or heels. I paired it with a simple black tank (it’s been hot here) and flats. I like that it’s a functional outfit that goes well with a blazer (for dressier occasions), or jean jacket for (the farmers market), or yes, just a tank for running errands in hot weather. EXPRESS One Fall Must Have

If you’re in search of one fall must have, it’s a suede jacket! This one has the perfect dark camel hue and a great fitting cut (I recommend sizing up). I love it paired with these sailor shorts from EXPRESS. And don’t forget booties or block heels. This outfit is the perfect transition outfit for those in the warmer climates experiencing an Indian summer but need a cozy covering for evenings.

I also plan on wearing this suede jacket with a knit turtleneck sweater for our next trip to Big Bear. It’s so funny how excited us Chicagoans are to travel to the cold regions of California. The kids keep asking when we can see snow. I distinctly remember thinking bad thoughts about the minus nineteen-degree winter that came every winter in Chicago … and yet. (Read our full story HERE.) Transitioning into Fall: updated basics

Happy Monday! Today, I’m showing you three outfits from Express that transition into Fall.

I need a yellow Vespa.

Express has stepped it up and I’m a big fan. I usually look for items I can wear over (and over) like this striped blouse (never enough stripes) and these flare pants. Since Los Angeles doesn’t have seasons, I will still manage to find a reason to don these flare pants and layer to my hearts content.Gotta love versatile and easy-to-style pieces! I’m loving this tank from Express’ One Eleven line with super soft modal blend and a built-in choker. So on trend and under $25. Virtually a no-brainer.
