This week is all about cozy yet chic layers and this look is no exception. I’ve never been cozier. I will have taught you all my cozy layering tricks just in time for bathing suit weather. Yes, the rumor is 80 degree weather is coming up soon to SoCal. Just in time for my kids to start begging for more beach days. Where I get my Denim Cutoffs

I get asked a lot about my denim and denim cutoffs are no exception. When we first moved to LA, we took the family to the Silverlake farmer’s market. We got flowers, fruit and denim cutoffs. Definitely not on the list, but who doesn’t love an unexpected find?

1.Vintage LEVIS  I get mine at Silverlake Farmer’s Market, check your vendors at your local market, you never know what you’ll find!

2. AEO Denim x High Rise Shortie was the best fit and length overall and did I mention under $55? High-fives all around.

3. Topshop I sized up and overall the best high rise. These look the closest to the ones I found at the market.

4. Levis have these in black, and white.

5. Asos has cute ones, and these  and these are no exception.

6. One Teaspoon I like the Bandits and Le Wolves – which fit true to size.

Maybe I liked it better than the hustle of Manhattan? One thing is true, whether I’m hustling in Manhattan or lounging in Brooklyn, I love a fresh take on stripe a la cold shoulder. The fastest way to the biggest impact with the littlest effort? A pop of red. If you hadn’t guessed already from my grams, this color is my secret sauce. Come fall, pair it with wine and don’t forget to layer on the denim. Some people have an immediate antipathy to red, and if this is you, take heart! There are so many shades of red out there now that you’re bound to find something that fits your coloring and/or skin-tone. Don’t write it off! If you still can’t manage it, then go check out the gobs of red accessories out there. Is it cliche to say that red is the new black? Cause it totally is.

You can easily return the one that doesn’t fit since there is free shipping both ways. My mailman is sweet enough to take my returns or I pack the kids in the car and drive to our post office a couple blocks away. Either way, it’s pretty easy!

Within walking distance of the Alfred Tea Room on Melrose, we found this beautiful house which became the location for this shoot. While we were standing out front, the owner came out and invited us to his garden and coach house, both of which looked straight out of a magazine or an exotic location in Costa Rica.
