Date night

I’m loving this dress from SIMKHAI. It looks like two pieces but is only one. I love the built-in faux leather skirt and the thick ribbed knit top. The contrast between the sleek skirt and the cozy knit is perfect for transitioning between seasons. Plus, the faux leather adds just the right amount of edge, while the ribbed texture keeps it casual enough for day or night. It’s one of those pieces that makes you feel put together with minimal effort, which is exactly what I need! You can also style this dress with clear heels or boots, which is your pick?

Happy Friday! Reid and the boys have a tee time and we’re going on a double date with another couple. I’m looking forward to it. Cue the date night outfit!

I’ve been a big supporter of the brand BARED from Australia. Have you heard of them?

Their brand is known for amazing arch support and shoes so pretty and comfortable that you can travel in them. The soles have a memory foam like construction and super supportive. Here I styled 3 of the pairs both casually and slightly more dressed up.

Which is your favorite look?

What I’m wearing:

I won’t lie, there was a time in my life I avoided leopard, just too loud and took some thinking when styling it. Enter small print leopard and this classy shift dress. I was hooked from the moment I got that Anine Bing newsletter. I kept clicking and eventually bite the bullet. I guess newsletter marketing really works?! It can also be worn with killer yellow booties (I have yet to get my hands on them). Since I don’t have yellow boots, I paired this shirt dress with a yellow bag and nude cork sandals. The rule when styling leopard is this, it MUST be paired with a neutral, in this case cork sandals. Another leopard combo I love is denim, red, and a pop of leopard. So striking. I included some favorite leopard pieces below (also some on the Netaporter sale!). You’re welcome! Hope you have a lovely weekend. Back to my feta omelette and cuties.

An easy solution for a tall girl is wearing a dress as a tunic. I paired this ruffle dress from Chrissy Teigen’s collab with Revolve with my favorite wide leg pants. While you may second guess the whole idea of a dress over pants, it totally works with sock boots and a floral bag. Perfect for date night which included dining room chair shopping and getting dinner in Highland Park. What do you think of dresses over pants?

Date night should be extra special and this lace dress caught my eye since its a beige shade, a lot like my friend’s Mrs Self Portrait dress without the price tag. I like to skimp somewhere to splurge on the accessories like this JW Anderson bag. I love that this neutral ensemble can also be worn at a wedding. See more wedding inspiration here and here. What’s your favorite date night look?

Few colors excite me more than red. Its such a bright and happy color that can wake up a tired color palette. I usually add a pop of red to an outfit, here I was attempting to do red head to toe, but my red bag happened to be a different red. Tones aside, I loved pairing a red dress with red flats and a circle bag, because date night should be about bold colors and the man you love. Oh and a good Thai food destination, that’s why I included 4 Thai food destinations in the LA area below:

Thai Paradise 909 W Las Tunas, San Gabriel, authentic spicy curry and good service

Sala Dang 363 S Fair Oaks, Pasadena, yummy yellow curry and great menu. We love taking friends from out of town here.

President Thai  498 S Rosemead, Pasadena, I’ve never been, but its been recommended and I can’t wait to try!

Thai Purple 27 W Garfield, Alhambra, Yummy curry and rice, I get the red curry, hubby gets the yellow.

Lace dresses are such show stoppers in themselves you hardly need to stress over accessorizing them. Just add a cool hat, sunglasses and a colorful sandal. I chose blush sandal heels here but you can give them a sporty look with sneakers.

Date night is usually pretty low key, food, coffee, and a long walk so comfy booties are a must. Reid actually picked out this outfit which is pretty sweet. I feel like as much as I like to style myself and others, I like him to like what I’m wearing. So, I like this dress even more because he likes me in it. Make sense? Major plus, this whole outfit is on sale from the boots to the jewelry.

What’s your favorite date night outfit? I love wearing dresses and HERE I’m wearing a pink one. Don’t forget, I updated menu tab so you can shop my instagrams HERE.

How is your weekend? We had a last minute date Friday night and it was d-i-v-i-n-e. Date night is often running errands for us so I almost always wear jeans with the exception of some dresses I’ve shown here before. This top immediately caught my eye because of the ruffles and one shoulder design. I paired it with color block heels you have seen before on my instagram because they are so versatile. Stay tuned, as we’re headed somewhere fun tomorrow!

Have a lovely rest of the weekend!

Date night or girly day dates require an upgrade from the beloved t-shirt and jeans. Enter the off the shoulder ruffle dress. I don’t usually wear a ton of pink, but this is the exception. It’s the perfect shade to compliment most shoes like these striped espadrilles. I’m sharing more date night favorites below. Tomorrow I’m sharing some finds from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Don’t worry, I’ll do the hard work going through thousands of product and sharing a couple of my favorites that are worth your time. Meanwhile, read up on how to prepare now, HERE. Happy humpday!
