Finally crisp air! Or, here’s to hoping for crisp air at any rate. As I write this, the temp outside feels like a sauna and all I can dream about is an excuse to bust out the new aviator jacket and belted camel coat. Yes, fall beats them all for me. I even layer in summer despite the fry-the-egg-on-the concrete weather. So what is my fall footwear edit? It’s simple: laced up and mid-calf. That’s why I love these two from Isolá. Both transition from work to mojito’s without missing a beat. I even managed to wrestle my two-year-old who was in hot pursuit of a moving train while wearing these. To complete the look, toss on a simple cotton LBD and aviator jacket for those (supposed) crisp mornings and (non-existent) lazy afternoons. And thank goodness for forgiving black LBDs and comfy (as in actually padded-footbed-comfy) booties. Because even though I’m running non-stop like a chicken without a head, I don’t have to look the part. For now, I’m dreaming of hot tea, an excuse to wear one of my 99 jackets, and these booties. One for date night, the other for church or work wear. Because like summer, fall goes way too fast. So boot up, appropriately.

I thought I’d give the overall trend a whirl. Afterall, Jane Birkin and Alexa Chung rock them like pros. I’ve always been hesitant of classic bib overall but I finally found them: slightly baggy, not overly distressed and some patchwork for good measure. However to bring it from farmer jane to “GIRLBOSS, ” I needed the right accessories: nude strappy heels, a red lip, and a slight crop top. Perfect for a summer date with the hubby. How do you wear yours?
What I’m loving now? Long summer days, salsa, splash parks and watermelon picnics. I’m also loving easy pieces: a sweater tank and a dress. The latter of which I love paired with red. You already know my love of mock turtleneck’s from my post, “Mock it up.” I can’t wait to pair the tank with a trusty blazer and the dress with my over the knee boots. Helllooo August.

My husband’s idea of a good shopping experience involves skipping the lines and the dreaded dressing room. So when he was looking to upgrade his work attire, he wasn’t looking to me for advice, ha! That’s where Men’s Style Lab comes in. So, with that, I hand it off to Reid.
