Summer is all about sandals, especially versatile ones that multi-task. This week I’m heading to Chicago for eight days for a family wedding, and all I get is a 22″ roll-on bag … which requires a lot of serious thought about what is going in that wee bag! I’ve recently partnered with Vince Camuto and started my outfit planning around this versatile sandal that gives me a lot of mileage for both dressing up and down. I plan on pairing them with stripe lace up tops, oversize knits, and a maxi dress. I can’t get enough white lately, so I also plan on pairing these VC sandals with lace, cropped jeans and a leather jacket. I love how Vince Camuto has become a fashion focused yet an accessible one stop resource for so many cute shoes! Now, if only I could bring one bag just for shoes . . .

On fun date nights when hubs makes reservations for dinner, we almost always end it with coffee ice cream. Well, it’s a goal at least. We like Jeni’s in Los Feliz. But c’mon, who doesn’t? I like it when he makes our plans, leaving me with one less thing to manage so that I end up enjoying it much more. If you’re looking for that one-of-a-kind vintage Chanel, look no further than Rice and Beans Vintage. What I love about this Chanel backpack, besides the fact that it is Chanel and gorgeous, is that it is hand’s free. I can carry my essentials and still have hands available for my little ones who invariably come with all those spills and hugs. A great thing to keep in mind about feature pieces … always pair your feature piece–for me it’s my jacket with all its intricate lace–with a subdued color like black so as to keep it chic and not too loud. For instance, if this jacket was white, I would wear white jeans. It’s all about balance. And in order to let the jacket and Chanel shine, I chose my go-to nude sandals because that’s all I really needed for date night. Anyone who knows me well knows that I stay away from too many ruffles and neon pink, the latter of which makes me gag. However, Chloè’s new line is convincing me otherwise. That said, I do feel more like myself when I pair these white ruffles with an edgy leather jacket and versatile tan boots. This look also works with wide leg pants and Chanel flats to dress it up.
Sporting these white ruffles, I can’t help but feel more feminine and girly. It’s all about options and using the same pieces multiple ways. And should you (or your pint sized loved one) spill salsa on your romantic ruffles, there’s always a tide stick.

LA has been feeling a lot like NYC lately and I’m not complaining. The days are cool-ish, slightly overcast, and oh-so-cozy. I’ll take any excuse to layer – preferably with a sweatshirt dress and leather jacket. Both of which work for date night. I’m all about an effortless (i.e. 5 minute) look because life is busy and once that sitter is through the door, so am I. I know I said “cozy” … but definitely try and stay away from the Christmas print flannels and oversize college sweatshirts. Instead, it’s all about balancing luxe details (like a leather jacket) with cozy basics (like this sweatshirt pullover) that fit and feel perfect.

This dress combines all my faves: white, embroidery and off the shoulder. Great for a fast one-piece outfit that works glammed up or down.
It’s also my Mother’s Day dress stand in with a leather jacket resting on my shoulder and black sandals. A chic laid back look for a much need mama’s day off. Well, I’m at least hoping. So excited to spend next Sunday with my five favorites who made me a mama to begin with. So thankful.
