Nordstrom Kids – Fourth of July

Hubby said to me tonight, wow you’re really obsessed with stripe dresses lately. Haha and yes, he’s so right. Blame it on the fourth of July or maybe the fact that they are super versatile and act as a closet neutral. Not only do they double as chic swim coverups but great layered with a denim jacket, white button-up or cardigan. Here, I paired it with a distressed denim jacket and red accessories. Today, we are headed to Laguna Beach and as much as I’m looking forward to the change of scenery, I’m not looking forward to the sand clean-up. Happy stars and stripes! If you are in search of a dress for Friday’s date night and your friend’s wedding, this dress fits the bill. Its been so hot here full of that dry dessert heat that I admittedly love, but also love to hate. Nothing better than a light ruffle dress for day dates and nights out to keep cool. Honestly, few things make my heart skip like this stripe and camel duo. We’re currently encountering a major heat wave so optional layering is a must! I own a million soft tanks, from white to black, soft to light weight and you should too. I like to pair the indispensable tank with striped shorts or cutoffs, a camel coat or rain jacket. If you’re looking for multiple options, this combo also works with flip flops for a BBQ on the beach or a low heel for dinner with friends.

Three things I love about this top: its linen, oversize and has a corset. I got so many compliments while wearing it for date night I had to share with you. Not to mention, I paired if with black jeans that look great with summer tops. Here are some of my faves:

Because date night is sometimes short as in we only have time for coffee and dessert, I included two dinner places and two coffee shops we love here in LA.

Nordstrom Rack Tops Under $40

Who doesn’t love a good Summer top under $40?  I’m loving this floral off the shoulder top with bell sleeves. We brought all the kids to Nordstrom Rack for some tops for me and work pants for Reid. Miraculously, we only left with 4 impulse buys and one fidget spinner. I was so proud of ourselves. We celebrated over guac, chips and burritos. If you’re on the fence, both my tops I linked below are under $40, and at that price, I’m not stressing about the green tea I spilled on them.
