Southern California winters don’t usually allow for cute puffer coats and layers of sweaters, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still be cozy. I like to do this style with just a touch of chic – that’s the trick to dressing cozy – keep things comfortable, but adding a little something to avoid looking like you just rolled out of bed (even when you did!). Cue this amazing vintage style pullover from Bloomingdale’s. It’s chic with its colors and pattern, but at the end of the day it’s a terry sweatshirt that I can move in. Plus, I’m always into a hint of vintage – it makes things more interesting and unique.

To dial it up just a touch I’m adding these ripped black coated jeans and sneakers. The jeans are still very casual, but the sneakers add that little bit of laid back chic I mentioned. Pro tip? Find a balance. If you know your top is on the relaxed side, spice it up with a cute sneaker like I did here or a black boot for going out. If it got chilly at night, as it does here in Southern California, I’d add this coat to add a dash of glam to an otherwise sporty look.

You can find all of these pieces at Bloomingdale’s. I love shopping with them because I can get all the high fashion pieces I’m looking for along with some of my favorite brands all in one place! Have you tried Wildfox loungewear? Why am I so late to the game? See more favorites below.

Thank you Bloomingdale’s for sponsoring this post!

Editor’s note, this post was re-published due to being deleted on accident! Enjoy the post!

I once again feel drawn to this gorgeously basic, wannabe neutral, leopard! It’s one of those prints that is timeless. I have a cardigan from LOFT I’ve had for 4 years and I can’t seem to give it away. Hence, this post. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I love this leopard coat I’m wearing has been a favorite. Especially paired with a graphic tee, red beret and kitten heels. If you get anything this fall, make sure at least one piece is leopard. Be it an accessory or top or heels. As a styling tip, while I would NOT wear this print top to bottom, rather it looks best sprinkled into your wardrobe. Try it and let me know if it upgrades your chic.

Happy Friday!

Kids pjs // Toddler pj’s //  Women’s pj’s // Men’s pj’s (also the two-piece set here)

Christmas pajamas has always been a tradition in my family so I’m super excited to continue it with my own family. Cue the AWE and YAY. I’m ready to heat up the oven for cinnamon rolls, roll out the gifts (hidden under my bed all year) and drink some yule tide cheer. Below are some of my favorite, kid approved, mom adored jammies for that special morning as a family.

For my girls, they love anything red or pink and SOFT

My boys on the other hand, are wearing pants with no shirt (apparently that’s cool because daddy sleeps without a shirt). Either way, if its chilly, they will wear a two piece and these are mommy approved:

Mom’s pj’s are soft and classic

5 Jeans under $100

by Shalice Noel

jeans // sweater // boots (on sale!)// round bag (under $100) // suede bag (on sale!)

I get a ton of questions about my jeans so I thought I’d round up some of my favorite jeans under $100! If you’re like me and finding yourself spending more of your wardrobe budget on puffer jackets, coats, silk pillowcases, chunky knit throws and cashmere scarves, not to mention holiday gifts, this post should be of use.

These are skinnies for long tunics and layering, this one is awesome for chunky knit sweaters (size down), and I’ve had these jeans for ages and they’re still flattering. And these are not under $100 but an overall great jean!

5 Jeans Under $100:

TIPS

Don’t size up. Seriously. Err on the side of too small because cotton and stretch will stretch with time.

Don’t worry about length. If you’re petite and worried about the jeans hanging on the floor, you can always get them hemmed (Nordstrom card holders get this perk for free) or just cut them off, like I do.

When in doubt, order a couple sizes and ship one back. Like most retailers, Shopbop and Nordstrom have free returns.

To prevent fading, wash inside out and add 1/2 cup of distilled vinegar to the final rinse cycle, or hand wash with Woolite. I really rarely wash my jeans. I just spilled coffee on mine the other day while out and just used Dawn soap from the kitchen and scrubbed it out.

Don’t forget that cropped jeans that hit at the smallest part of your ankle look AWESOME with fun shoes like these:

I’d love to know, or if you have any tips, add them to the comments!

We land today in Colorado and I cannot wait. The kids are super excited to attend ski school and I feel all the weight of packing all 6 of us for a big ski trip. Insert tired mama! I am, however SO grateful we can do this and even more excited to share our experience with you! Meanwhile, there are some sales going around the web this weekend. Look below for some great gift-giving ideas that I know I am going to take advantage of for my family in the Midwest and friends. The sweater I’m wearing here is sold out but I linked similar and my boots are 30% off, which seldom happens. Take advantage of this time to gift to others on your list as well as pick up a couple new threads for yourself. I’ve done the same but also been donating to the Salvation Army and slowly selling on Poshmark. It feels good to make space by cleaning out! That said, are you done with your shopping? It’s that time of year when you have holiday parties to attend and nothing to wear. Enter the classy LBD. I love a good LBD and classy heels for any date night out or Holiday party. Especially ones with pom poms. If you’re looking for a pro tip, buy your holiday dress NOW before everyone rushes 2 day shipping for theirs. I ordered mine for my birthday fête and can’t wait to get it. See some of my favorite dresses below. Hurry – limited sizing and give yourself a round of applause for being the early bird. Congrats! Après Ski Sweater // white pants // boots // beret

This will be our first ski vacation as a family.  The kids have no idea what to expect so we’ve been prepping by watching Warren Miller Ski movies all week.  Our enthusiasm is growing rapidly.  Ski trips are not our typical lay around the pool and soak up the sun kind of holiday. This week will be heart-pumping, adrenaline, learn something new, need for speed, catch some air kind of holiday. So follow along as we explore the slopes of Vail next week! As we prep, I’m predicting vintage ski apparel will be very “hot” this winter, so even if you don’t have a ski vacation planned, you can always capture the ski fashion at home.

Three ski attire must haves:

Vintage Ski Sweater

Add French words to a sweater and you have me like….ga ga.

Ski Goggles

I didn’t even know Chanel made these!  I’m sure we can figure out somewhere to wear these off the mountain. Any ideas?

Ski Coat/Pants

Look for bright colors and form-fitting styles like this jacket and ski pants. I also picked up this cute sweater. I mean, how cute?

Chevron always works in the mountains. After all, the geometric pattern is inspired by the mountain peaks, right?

Enough with geometry lessons! As for the kids, we are looking for more cozy and practical snow gear.  Warm, waterproof coats are a must.  Traditional Sorel snow boots are always my favorite. They last a long time, keep their style and we pass them down from kid to kid, so  purchase the unisex looking boots for your little ski bunnies.

TIP ALERT:

Oh….and to get all this gear into your suitcase, here’s a tip.  Stuff as much as you can of the squishy bulky stuff like hats and gloves into large zip lock bags. Press down on the bag and let all the air out before you zip it up. That way, you condense the bulk and you keep all those loose, matching items together in the bags. Also, put those cute Sorel boots to work and stuff goggles into them!

Please comment with your ski memories below. I love hearing about your experiences. We’ll share ours once we get back!

Whether you’re going out, or staying in, there are some great options on sale now. I’ve been able to get ahead on my Christmas shopping and maybe pick up a thing or two for myself thanks to early sales. I like to sip tea and shop Black Friday from the comfort of my home. NO lines, traffic or fight for a parking spot! Which are your faves?

Lucky for you, I picked out some of my faves above. Don’t forget yesterday’s post on the Shopbop sale. We’re staying local and planning a quiet Thanksgiving, how about you?
