Little Red Dress x Datenight

Few colors excite me more than red. Its such a bright and happy color that can wake up a tired color palette. I usually add a pop of red to an outfit, here I was attempting to do red head to toe, but my red bag happened to be a different red. Tones aside, I loved pairing a red dress with red flats and a circle bag, because date night should be about bold colors and the man you love. Oh and a good Thai food destination, that’s why I included 4 Thai food destinations in the LA area below:

Thai Paradise 909 W Las Tunas, San Gabriel, authentic spicy curry and good service

Sala Dang 363 S Fair Oaks, Pasadena, yummy yellow curry and great menu. We love taking friends from out of town here.

President Thai  498 S Rosemead, Pasadena, I’ve never been, but its been recommended and I can’t wait to try!

Thai Purple 27 W Garfield, Alhambra, Yummy curry and rice, I get the red curry, hubby gets the yellow.

Above most outfits, I love layers. A good tank with a stripe button down or cardigan is my jam. These two weeks, I’ve been dropping off and picking up kids from soccer camp, so I haven’t had a ton of time to overthink what I’m wearing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving having the kids home and these lazy dog days of summer. We just hung out in my daughter’s room last night and chatting – all four of them. It really felt like a lazy summer which I love. So an oversize tank, fave rips, and optional layering in the AC it is. We’re dropping off the kids at VBS and going to get pho. Can’t wait. Date night is usually pretty low key, food, coffee, and a long walk so comfy booties are a must. Reid actually picked out this outfit which is pretty sweet. I feel like as much as I like to style myself and others, I like him to like what I’m wearing. So, I like this dress even more because he likes me in it. Make sense? Major plus, this whole outfit is on sale from the boots to the jewelry.

A Bodysuit Under $40

This top is super flattering, fits true to size and great for girls who are not heavy on the chest like myself. Thankfully, this chic bodysuit gives me the shape I need and I like it paired with simple jeans with split hem detail. Speaking of, the hem features my pink flats so well and I can pair this with a cardigan when it gets chilly at night. The best part? The bodysuit on a budget is $38, and well worth a try if you’re a newcomer to the bodysuit arena.

Jeans

Don’t miss this sale without buying a pair of jeans. Here are some of my favorites!

Sweaters

I’m always surprised how much wear I get out of a good sweater in the summer and how well it transitions into fall. You can’t go wrong with a tank, sweater and jeans. Ever.

Tops 

I personally love an interesting tops, because they look great with jeans and that’s all I wear. This bodysuit is uber flattering great under a skirt or jeans.

Shoes

As a stylist, I always encourage my clients to invest in “investment buys.” Well made shoes fit into that catagory such as Rag & Bone and Stuart Weitzman.

Skirts

I love pairing over the knee boots with skirts for fall. A good suede or leather skirt goes a long way.

Dresses

A love that a dress is one and done and paired easily with a wrap sandal, booties or a pump.

Handbags & Accessories

How cute is this stripe bag? I want to bring it to the farmer’s market tomorrow! 

Beauty

Most of these things I already have – so I highly recommend! I’m trying Neulash for the first time as my friend told me its amazing. With so many beauty exclusives this year, it’s a great time to try a new brand or gift a friend.

From sheets to bar carts to a copper poly pillowcase. The pillowcase I’ve heard great things about, these candles make great hostess gifts and I tend to buy sheets a couple times a year, always a plus when its on sale!

Jackets

It may be 91 degrees out, but if you buy now, you’ll thank yourself later. It’s a great time to stock up on a new Fall/Winter jacket.

You probably already know, I collect denim. I’m pretty picky about the wash and fit, but I found a couple faves, some of which are under $100! Don’t forget to size up since they arrive pretty stiff. I’m definitely bringing a couple pairs to Mexico with Reid and I, as I love how they look with ruffles and going out tops. Some days – scratch that, most days I want the easiest outfit I can wear to run errands- sneak in a meeting and make it on time for school pick up. Yes, most days the latter is a miracle.  I must admit, there are also the delightful parts of being a mom of four – each child has a distinct humor, character and it’s so fun when they make you laugh and cover you in hugs! I mean where else can you get all that under one roof? I’m wearing all black, my fave ripped denim jacket, black boots and a market bucket bag to hold flowers and my credit card. I mean, what else does a girl need?
