Black Friday, the one day of the year when we all collectively forget about budgets and treat ourselves like we’re on an episode of Oprah’s Favorite Things. You know the drill: the second the clock strikes midnight, it’s like we all morph into deal-hunting ninjas, ready to pounce on discounted gadgets, clothes, and anything that looks vaguely like it’s “on sale.” And let’s be real, we’re all out here pretending we’re only shopping for others when, in reality, that new TV is definitely for your living room. (Who’s going to know, right?) So grab your coffee, throw on your comfiest pants, and prepare for the annual chaos—because today, the cart gets filled, and the budget gets ignored. It’s a very special week of giving thanks and gathering round. My aunt, cousin and her daughter is coming to our house Thursday, along with my parents. A full house of 12! It should be fun and I can’t wait for the green beans! Here are 3 things to do this week:

1. Decide what charity to give to as a family. We did Secret Santa this year with Door of Hope, a homeless ministry that is doing exciting things to help our local community.

2. Decide what to donate. If more is coming in, more needs to go out. It’s also important to talk to the kids about donating to the less fortunate and giving especially to the families that were displaced from the CA fires!

3. Order everything you can online. Driving from my cousins house last night I saw traffic backed up from people going to the outlet, so silly! I wanted to yell out the window, “Make your life easier, order online!”
