I lost access to my main Instagram account

First of all, I’m SO grateful for you all. I have cried numerous times just reading your reposts tagging IG and my account. You are amazing!! And you make me so grateful!!! I am thankful you are here and that we have a newsletter community. 

What happened?

My main instagram page @shalicenoel got suspended!! This is one of my top nightmares. Two days ago, I posted a follower’s review of some sandals that “looked like designer” and Instagram told me that my story violated community guidelines and took my whole account down.

At first I was confused, then tried again, then later freaked out. I appealed and went as far as I could until I knew I had to find a contact at Meta to ever recover my account. There are so many bots when trying to get a hold of someone to help, that it was clear that I needed a connection with an employee at meta.

Thankfully, I’m working with a couple key people to get it back up and running. It is nothing short of heartbreaking as I it took me 10 years to build my account following of 186,000. I miss the community I created in my DM’s. I miss our chats!

Reid usually can’t accompany me to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, so he usually goes on line and finds a bunch of things that he likes. Let me interject, that he is SO good at picking out the edgy chic men’s selection. I love this jacket that he chose and AG pants, which are uber flattering.

I had a blast shopping the NSALE this week. Lots of good deals and great find. I’m lazy when it comes to getting into the gym, so any motivation to workout, I’ll take it. I found some cute bike shorts, tank and cardigan to hit the gym in style.Just the motivation I needed!

What I don’t think is worth it in the NSALE

Every year when I shop the NSALE, I tell people that there is a strategy to the sale. Don’t just buy something because it is on sale. Think investment buys and wardrobe builders. The below however, didn’t seem worth it. Do you agree?

Barefoot dreams cardigan

It’s there every year in the same driftwood color, I’m over it. And at this point, you should already have one.

The Versace watch is over the top, and not a classic choice IMO.

the Levi’s denim jacket. It’s the same price as in store, so if you need one, get it but don’t stress because it’s not much of a discount.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2023

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is a fun sale, I love the interaction with you girls, I’ve been shopping it since 2015, and I love the excuse to get out of the house, make fun content, and EDIT. You follow me because of my edit so I will do just that.

How to prepare

What are your top priorities? I don’t like just shopping to shop,
Did you start a new job? Do you need a new bag? New jeans that fit, a new bra etc?
Write them down
Get early access by signing up for their credit card.

Pro Tips

1. Stock up on Christmas gifts. I know it’s 5 months away, but when your teen is eying those Birkenstocks for Christmas, why not buy them on sale?
2. If there is something you’re eying, get it! I slept on some boots on the anniversary sale, and they sold out! Don’t regret it.
3. Buy two sizes and return one if you need.
4.  Free alterations with the Nordstrom credit card
