Breezy light chiffon proves the best kind of ventilation for that dry desert air. And looking effortlessly chic? Well, that’s a bonus along with crazy wind blown hair. I paired the dress with a wrap heel that happens to go with everything. And yes, planning our next trip to the desert stat.

Your search for the perfect blush pleated skirt is over. Not only is this modern on-trend blush steal under $100, but it’s machine washable. No really, true story. After my toddler hugged me after playing in a backyard full of dirt, I made sure to find out. There might have been a little desperation involved. So, I know. I have plans to get a couple of outfits out of this versatile piece, such as all white, frayed denim and even sneaks! The possibilities prove endless. However, if you want a pro-stylist tip, balance the midi skirt with a fitted top, preferably knotted or slightly cropped and avoid tall boots and loose tops … all of which are at Nordstrom, of course. Get yours before it sells out.

Thinking to give ourselves a little vacation mixed with desert air, we attempted 12 hours in Palm Springs. Well, two hours later we (being 4 adults and 4 children) stiffly rolled out of one SUV. At that point, the Siberian Desert even sounded good. The kids frolicked, the adults laughed with delight, and yes, the scenery was breathtaking. I think I even managed to nab a picture. Together with the breakfast burritos and ricotta pancakes at Kings Highway, it was an all-around success. And lest you wonder, I wore blush, spring’s hottest hue. I really should limit my purchasing of blush items but it’s so flattering to most skin tones – mine being olive- that I don’t see an end in sight.

Just wanted to let you know first. Now, back to getting ready for the Monday rush after a short getaway to Palm Springs. Which was a little crazy but well worth the adventure. What did you do this weekend, any adventures?  XO

I’ve been thinking lately about how less is more and how that translates in fashion … basically, there should be less junk and MORE quality pieces. Amen? After all, there’s no shame in ringing in summer with a worthy splurge. Especially if it is one that you will wear over and over and over again. See 5 of my favorite “investment buys” below.

1. Pierre Hardy (contrast details on point!)

2. Stella star bag (so adorable)

3. Chloé elsie (love this pop of color)

4. Stella denim crossbody (a classic that doesn’t take itself too seriously)

5. Ferragamo marisol (I like it with cutoffs and a flowy top)

Nothing says spring like blush and lace up. Here I paired blush with more blush in a light pink blazer and the husband’s leather jacket. I love Nordstrom’s selection of spring dresses. I always order a couple because their customer service is awesome and I can always make returns without a glitch. And this spring they have a great collection of blush and lace! Weirdly enough, I used to hate pink but now I can’t get enough of it. (Maybe it was the pink bedroom I had growing up??) Regardless, everyone needs a little pink dress (LPD) in their wardrobe this spring, and a husband who lends his leather jacket is a major plus. Shop the post below:

Truth: An IT BAG aka Pierre Hardy bag, makes a twenty-one dollar turtleneck LBD look REALLY good. And throw in some white pumps for good measure. Just a warning, you’ll be seeing lots more of this ‘lil gem of a bag.

Years ago, I borrowed my mom’s gorgeous traditional Portuguese embroidered vest from her closet. It was chic, bohemian, and super cool for its old time traditional flavor. Recently, I spotted this lacy embroidered crop top and it reminded me of that very vest from long ago. In fact, I totally feel like I’m channeling her seasoned taste and European heritage when I wear this piece. And what better time to wear it than festival season? Who’s going to Coachella? I’m not sure what spells music and desert air more than lace, cold shoulder and cropped. Don’t forget to stock up on extra long white jeans (because I almost always stain them), and round sunnies. Countdown to desert air and endless tunes starts NOW.

One of my favorite outfits since moving to LA three months ago is cutoffs and a couple layers, be it a sweater or blazer. I’ll admit it though. I’m totally on a cutoffs kick and this white pair and extra frayed pair are no strangers. Here are some of my favorites that you may or may not have seen on Instagram. Oddly, we loved the cloudy weekend since I was able to be more productive. Thanks LA gloom! Hope you have a great week!
