Ways I Stay Motivated:

Workout with your kids. This is a double win, they get worn out and you burn calories. Need I say more?

Have a workout buddy. Meet your friend at the gym, hold each other accountable and share your goals.

Bring out an old pair of jeans or pants you’d love to wear that don’t fit, etc. and hang it somewhere visable to remind yourself of your goal. I did this after my last birth. I really wanted to burn off the last of the baby weight and a pair of white pants were my motivation!

Buy some new gear. Sometimes you need new shoes, a better fitting jogging bra and leggings. Nordstrom has experts who can fit you since after you have a baby or various times in your life you can be different sizes!

The pro’s know, the best workout starts with the best threads. At least I’m convinced that’s how I get out of bed to workout knowing I have an outfit I love to wear. These pieces can go from the gym to grocery store to school pickup. I got so many compliments on my (sucks everything in) leggings and lace back top. After all, My piano teacher always said, to begin is to be half done.

Here are some of my favorites below:

My Friday Picks

by Shalice Noel

my sweater // jeans // belt  // tee

I don’t know about you, but this week flew! It was chillier than normal and I made soup and we are still wondering what day it is after Christmas. Can you relate? I made the kids do homework over break, but I’m redeeming myself as “Fun mom” by taking them to the park every day. Hello new found workout! When I’m not in leggings and running shoes literally chasing my kids, I’m in cozy knits and flattering jeans. Pretty simple. I also found some sales worth checking out below if you’re headed out of town and in need a couple new pieces. Also, don’t forget to peep at my shop page I update daily and you can always shop my instagram here.

Happy Friday!

A red Trench

A red heel

Cropped jeans (they highlight the shoes better) I’m wearing a 2p here

I’ve been clearing out my closet A LOT lately so pairing things down to just the basics is très importantè. These four classics I name “classics” only because I keep going back to them. I even dress my kids in stripes – I cannot get enough. Nothing is better than topping it off with a red trench. What I love about Talbots is consistent great quality and some lovely pieces. Want to make a super simple change to your diet without changing your lifestyle and still benefitting? Drink lemon water. I usually drink a whole lemon every morning (first thing in the morning). Thankfully we have a lemon tree in the back and front of our house, so I usually ask the kids to go pick me some! While you can dilute with water, I personally like the taste so I don’t dilute. I think of it as a natural energy boost before I hit the ground running.

The benefits of lemon water

Boosts the immune system

Contains vitamin C and potassium (more than apples and grapes!)

Taking it first thing in the morning allows you to absorb your vitamins

Relieves indegestion

Great weight loss booster (the Polyphenals in lemons may aid in reducing appetite)

The antioxidents in lemon water decreases wrinkles (HALLELUJAH)

In what ways are you making healthy changes in 2018? I’d love to hear your ideas in the comments.

2017 was one of growth and change and blessings! I am overwhelmed and grateful my blog took out family to many places this year from Vail to Four Seasons Westlake, to Carlsbad and Legoland to Miami and Mexico. I got to work with some awesome brands and learned a lot. I’m sharing 5 things I’ve learned in 2017 below:

5 Things I learned in 2017

Be Honest

It’s ok to face your weaknesses – facing them is the first step to change.

Worry is Futile

Find people to help you who have a different skill set than you

Be kind, always!!

What have you learned? I’d love to know!

Don’t forget to shop the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale – it ends tomorrow – my blush heels I always wear are on sale and this top I have in white and bought my mom in black. Sizes are limited.

Ruched Dress (under $60!) fits TTS imo // Over the Knee Boots (they’re “thighland”  but they’re sold out) SIMILAR BOOTS  and LOW HEEL VERSION // Hat // Jacket SIMILAR //

How was your Christmas? Reid and I enjoyed our slowest and sweetest Christmas yet. We were surrounded by my lovely in-laws and lots of LEGO’s. I would be lying if I said I haven’t stepped on them. But speaking of stepping, these boots are my fave and one of my wardrobe staples, and this dress is quickly a favorite for its flattering fit, tulip hem and under $60 price!

I’ve also included some of my favorites from around the web below:

STUART WEITZMAN

7 FOR ALL MANKIND

BAUBLEBAR

NET-A-PORTER

flare jeans // top similar // faux fur jacket // purse // heel // belt

I’ve found the fastest way to make an outfit look more expensive is a good belt (preferably Hermès or Gucci) and freshly pressed clothes. It’s amazing how a little attention to detail can elevate an outfit. And how fun are these flares? I’m in love!

There are so many great after Christmas sales going on but don’t worry about having to leave your house! It’s unseasonably cold here and in LA and I’m sitting here with my laptop, tea and shopping from home! Is there anything better than free shipping? I picked out some of my favorite sale items so you don’t have to, like this dinnerware set and jeans under $40!  Happy shopping!

sweatpants (I’m wearing a small)// beret // thermal top similar // teddy coat similar // blush heel similar

I’m admittedly not one for sweatpants but a teddy coat made me do it. Ever since being introduced to this one – I’m obsessed with all things cozy! I paired it with a cute pink thermal and went with an overall gray and pink theme. Being a busy mom of 4 has had me prioritize my wardrobe, I balance cozy and practical and stylish. I won’t however comprimise the heels since I don’t want to look too cozy while wearing sweatpants. Hope you had a lovely Christmas! I hope to share more of our simple enjoyment of a potentially hectic holiday.

Happy Boxing Day!

dress // heels //

NYE is fast approaching and this dress is the perfect way to kick it off! I love the one shoulder and ombré sequins but I really love the one shoulder. I bought this in small and I usually have zipper issues, but this zipped up without a glitch. These Tamara Mellon red heels are the perfect punch of color to kick off NYE and can’t wait to pair them with jeans. Even if I don’t end up ringing in 2018 at a party, it’s date night ready. What are you wearing?

Other New Years options:

5 Coats Under $100

One of my readers asked me to share some budget friendly options for the wintertime. I rounded up 5 coats under $100, yes under $100 can you believe?

KENNETH COLE

TOPSHOP Camel Coat

MURAL midi coat

ANDREW MARC faux leather x faux fur

TOPSHOP hooded parka super practical and cute

A good coat goes a long way. I love wearing just a plain tee under a great statement or teddy coat with classic denim. So, the investment goes a long way. Which is your favorite?
