How is your weekend? We had a last minute date Friday night and it was d-i-v-i-n-e. Date night is often running errands for us so I almost always wear jeans with the exception of some dresses I’ve shown here before. This top immediately caught my eye because of the ruffles and one shoulder design. I paired it with color block heels you have seen before on my instagram because they are so versatile. This weekend we are off to Santa Monica, and if the kids have anything to do with it, we will stop by the beach. I’m keeping it simple with a cotton dress, sneakers (or cute sandals in blush velvet) and my trusty hat. I’ love that this dress is under $50 so the inevitable spills don’t stress me out. We’ve been venturing out to more neighborhoods like Silverlake and loving the vibe. Laid back, artsy, and great coffee shops. And did I mention cool vintage cars? I’m a fan. It’s starting to feel like summer so what’s easier than a summer dress? I love that its only one piece and all you need is shoes to complete the outfit. TOPSHOP Embroidered Denim

Few items steal the show like embroidered denim. I’m loving this trend for three reasons:


1. its here to stay
2. it’s easy to style
3. it looks great with a crisp white shirt, and everybody’s got one of those
Here I styled it with a creme mock-neck top, camel blazer and nude heels. I took advantage of Topshop’s take home service (have you heard of it?? It is as brilliant as it sounds). As soon as I tried on the embroidered denim, I was sold. It has a super flattering fit, from thigh to ankle, and I can’t wait to wear these with black boots and a leather jacket. You wouldn’t think so, but there really are so many options. Thankfully, as a busy wife and mom, I didn’t have to leave the house to try this hot trend. Between the love and the delivery (and option for no-hassle returns), this was my kind of shopping. Thank you Topshop for partnering on this post!

I partnered with Topshop, sharing some of my favorite pieces, including this versatile leopard coat and cozy stripe sweater. I’m thankful Los Angeles is giving me an excuse to bust out the layers with all this rain we got this weekend. Don’t forget a pop of white to bring out the oversize stripes. Two styles that are always on-trend but will always remain classics are military blazers and stripes. I’m a huge fan of the military look and a HUGE fan of Topshop. It’s no lie as a majority of my grams have at least one Topshop piece. Have you noticed? I’ll tell you why: they are affordable, on-trend, and carry a vast variety of day-to-night looks. Let’s face it, gold buttons make my heart skip a beat. Whether you’re a fan of the military look or just need to update your stripes, you can’t go wrong with this classic look. Nordstrom Date Night in OMBRÉ

I’m working with Nordstrom showing my favorite date night look. I found this under $200, ombré metallic dress from Topshop at Nordstrom. I happened to be wearing this dress when my hubby and I left the restaurant and were walking around downtown Pasadena. It was funny when 5 random people stopped me on the street to tell me how much they loved this dress and where’s it from. It’s funny, the pieces I’m usually on the fence on, usually end up being my favorite pieces! It’s no joke, Nordstrom always delivers with awesome date night dress options but great customer service. As for styling advice, do size up on the dress and add this moto jacket when the temps dip.

How to Rock the Shawl

The really great thing about colder weather is all that lovely layering you get to do. And seeing as I’ve accumulated quite a few lovely scarves, shawls and kimonos, I have some great layering pieces. My very favorite trick to accessorizing a cold shoulder or off-the-shoulder dress or top is a scarf or shawl. If I were to name one, this lace and fringe number works every time. It provides a whimsical flair to an evening out, whether that be a quick stop for boba tea or dinner at Gjelina. Wherever you end up, you’ll feel chic and sophisticated. Quite honestly, this off-the-shoulder/shawl situation may become my fall go-to … it’s that good.
