It’s my favorite time of year, but I also feel like it’s halfway through the summer and I get a little panicky. We have a summer bucket list, but have barely made a dent, can you relate? I rounded up some comfortable patriotic outfits for staying in or going out. Stay tuned for NSALE coverage coming up.

Which is your favorite?

Versatile Workwear I Love

One thing I’m trying to do more of lately is give you all more workwear inspiration. I know a lot of you are corporate women who need some ideas for all kinds of outfits! Because I don’t head into a formal office every day, I like to try and put together both fashionable and versatile looks that can work for the office, but also for any other event on your calendar. Today, I am showing you one of my favorite brands for this kind of style – Tommy Hilfiger! Tommy Hilfiger is a classic brand in my opinion and I know whatever I pick from them will be perfect for any occasion. I went for these straight, cropped trousers and a preppy cardigan I’m wearing as a top (one of the fall trends to watch!). From flowy blouses to a silk cami with a blazer – the options for what to wear on the bottom are endless! I also had to top it off with a little animal print clutch and a white mule because they’ve become a wardrobe staple for this mama. Do you guys want more office looks? Let me know and I’ll put some together! This whole look can be found at Nordstrom, one of my favorite places to shop. I can’t wait to style this again!

Thank you Tommy Hilfiger for sponsoring this post!

foldable hat and hat similar // polka dot camisole // jeans // sunglasses // heels (under $60!) // cute similar clutch

My in-laws are in town and date nights were the original plan. However, life had other plans. Levi got sick and won’t let go of me, so goodbye freedom and yummy Italian food at Gales alone with Reid. Oh well, my mother-in law organized my kitchen cabinets so I can’t complain too much. We got a raincheck for a date night at Gale’s.

I found this polka dot camisole online on sale — love the print. It came with a skirt that I also ordered. However, it didn’t look good on me. So I styled it with my old favorite denim, practical hat (in this 100 degree heat) and pink blush sandals.

Which is your favorite?

Day Heels in Red // Georgette Top (I got a size 38 a US6, one size bigger than usual bc they were almost sold out but I liked how flowy it was) // Jeans // Sunglasses (20% off!)// Turquoise earrings // Simillar Chloe Bag

Nearly four thousand reviews do not lie. These Day Heels are 5 star: comfy, buttery soft, and chic. And just when I thought that wasn’t possible!

The elasticized back allows movement and no blisters. I’ve worn these for hours and no blisters. I always want a heel without pain. Especially on days I am mostly on my feet or running to meetings on the west side.

Here I styled the red day heel with a leopard billowy top, skinny jeans, and small Chloe Faye bag for date night but stay tuned as I’m not done with these babies yet.

How would you style the red day heels?

8 Blogging Tips

by Shalice Noel

trench worn in small // polka dot camisole from Express here is similar and similar // red day heels in size 9 (TTS so comfy!) // shorts // jeans // turquoise ring (similar)

1 // CONSISTENCY Post and write daily // Tell your audience what to expect and follow through.

2 // COLLABORATION Together we are stronger, do not shy away from partnering with a like minded bloggers. I once did a shoot with another fashion blogger, Sheryl from Walk in Wonderland and it was so fun! We shared each other on our blogs. Remember, collaboration over competition.

3 // BRANDING Think of your blog as your brand. Sit down and wrote down what your brand is about in 5 sentences.

4 // KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE Study you analytics, straight out ask them. Watch youtube videos on how to find your super power. Ask yourself what is something I know that no one else does or does as well as I do? Am I story telling? In marketing 101, we learn nothing is sold by just sharing facts. You must use story telling to sell your product. Are you telling your story and if so, how is your audience responding?

5 // JUST DO IT Not to sound clichĆ©, but running a business is equal parts heart and head. Go outside the norm, challenge yourself. Do something that makes you scared. My college professor once said boldly, “Take holy risks.” I haven’t forgotten it.

6 // WORK HARDER AND SMARTER // Hustle, work until the work is done, make lists, and delegate. If you’re not good editing, find someone who is! Another pair of eyes is always helpful. I have a virtual assistant who is SO HELPFUL. Many days I wear many hats, from styling, creative directing, modeling to administration. All of it. You get the point! Don’t be afraid to jump in. If there is something you’re not an expert in, google it, and find someone who is. Don’t be afraid to reach out to another blogger. Collaborate! We all have separate gifts.

7 // STAY THE COURSE Slow and steady won the race.

8 // TEACH YOURSELF NEW THINGS, from hair braiding to coding to photoshop to video editing. A successful entrepreneur is ALWAYS learning.

Any tips you have? I’d love to hear.

Happy Thursday!

red square neck jumpsuit (I’m wearing a size 4) // heels both in nude and black // earrings // scarf // sunglasses // denim jacket // faux leather jacket (real leather option for 20% off)

It’s time to simplify your wardrobe and a jumpsuit is the first step. Besides the fact that it is ONE AND DONE, it can be dressed up or down. I wear it here with a leather jacket and denim jacket. I added some print with a fun scarf. Which way is your favorite?

Two Ways to Wear a Scarf

  1. In your hair: tie it in a bow around your hair tie

2. Fold in half, tie under your hair and secure with bobby pins.

My friend Marcia demonstrates a good video on scarf tying. How do you like to wear a scarf?

A grandma at church stopped me and asked me what my work at home tips are for her daughter in law working from home for the first time with an infant. Well, here they are. There is no reason to be nervous, you just need tools to succeed. Here’s my tips on this post

The one hat you need is not only foldable but also packable and perfect for your beach vacation!

Already thinking back to school? My favorite is the energy ball recipe. YUM. Here’s 11 back to school mom hacks!

This is the peel I’m loving. You can use it on your hands or face. I love seeing the dead skin come off! That’s how you get the glow girl!

Have you tried my couple’s workout? It can also be done alone.

What is still available on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? These pj’s that I buy every year, boots I’ve worn a ton, and Nikes under $75. How cute are these boots? Not on the NSALE, but cute nonetheless with jeans and a sweater. Can you tell, I LOVE fall fashion?

Curious what I bought from Amazon this week? See my page.

I’m making another batch of almond flour blueberry muffins, have you tried them? I make them the night before for breakfast the next morning. I also taught my eldest how to make them and they are SO good!

Friday Notes

leopard top // sneakers // camisole ($25!) // faux leather leggings // bag

These pink birkenstock like sandals are back in stock!

This is the book we’ve been reading to the kids at night. The stories are so inspirational and encourage great conversation.

Do I use mascara primer, and should you use it too? Yes! Ever since I stopped getting lash extensions, I’ve been using lash boosters, taking biotin and collagen (to grow hair) and trying to get my lashes to look longer. I tell you, it’s hard being a girl sometimes.

I have $100 gift card from Nordstrom, how should I use it? See below some goodies I rounded up from the NSALE. My advice is, stock up on neutral layers that will stand the test of time and many trends. For example, a cute trench coat.

I’ve been making TWIX bars all week, just ask my kids. We ate them till our stomach hurt. GFDF! Now, I can’t wait to make these paleo pancakes. YUM!

My best friend is in Paris, I can’t help but wish I was there with her, booking the next table at the amazing cafe: Les Deux Margots.

I love this jelly peel. It literally makes your dead skin come off!

I’m day 3 using Biotin gummies for hair. So yum. Now, I need to hide them from Reid.

This is the color safe shampoo and conditioner I’ve been loving

Have you tried makeup melt? It’s clean beauty and so good. That’s it for now. The kids have VBS this weekend, yay! As for me, I’ll be running around DTLA beating the heat in a lightweight nursing friendly dress working on a fun project to come. What are you up to?

The day is finally HERE. The first day of early access to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I’m so excited I could pee in my pants. I love getting a sneak peek of fall offerings at discount. Makes me want to go on a big trip somewhere cold wearing all my fall clothes. Or perhaps you live in a cold area and dying to get your hands on some stylish layers. Or perhaps you’re looking for teacher and Christmas gifts. Keep scrolling and I think you will find something for everyone. I hope you are a Nordstrom Card holder and can enjoy shopping the sale early because things SELL OUT FAST. Apply for the card HERE. It helps to have first dibs on items you know will fly. Let me know which are your favorites!

Also, I’ve used this Neulash to help re-grow my lashes after the effects of lash extensions. Most of you already know, the majority of my make-up is Charlotte Tilbury pillowtalk. Easy to use because I’m a novice and flattering colors. I use the lipliner every day! See my posts on Charlotte Tilbury make-up here.

I hope you found some goodies. Don’t forget to comment and “like” on my instagram to win a $100 gift card to jump start your Nordstrom shopping experience. I also published these looks on the Liketoknow.it app for mobile users. Hope you have a lovely Friday! I really appreciate your support and thanks for stopping by!

My favorite sale of the year is here. Icon and Ambassadors get an early preview to shop today at 9:30 PST and 12:30 EST. This year is a big selection I must say. Lots of goodies. But honestly, I’m most excited about the boots.

Since they did things differently this year, allowing the Icon and Ambassador levels to shop first, THINGS WILL SELL OUT FASTER THAN USUAL. Which takes me to my first tip:

  1. BUY NOW, RETURN LATER. If you’re on the fence about size or color, my advice would be to buy it (if available) and return one if necessary. It’s more important you get the item, right?
  2. GET THE CARD. Are you a Nordstrom Card holder? I’m NOT a fan of having multiple credit cards, but I got this one 2 years ago just for this sale. I never keep a balance and only use it for this sale. What I’m trying to say, is, it is worth it. And I get multiple $20 notes in the mail because I spend so much during this sale for you girls. Sorry Reid.

tall boots (praline suede) // skirt // halogen tee under $20 (super soft and comes in 7 colors!) // chloƩ bag //

I’m loving these pj’s, this bag, and super soft pullover for colder areas that always sells out. I would size up for a roomier fit. I also picked up these ear crawler earrings in gold and this gold bar pendant for $52.

Here’s a sneak peek of what I got from the sale yesterday. I have 5 bags and I had to have curbside pick up to help me get everything in my car. Phew, that was a workout!

Below are some outfit ideas for my 9 to 5 girls. Many of you working girls asked for outfit ideas.

pants // tank // faux leather jacket for $62!// similar mules // pleated skirt // vince cut out bootie // leopard cardigan // black jeans (I’m wearing a 2) // CZ earrings

taupe booties for $79// black jeans // $20 tank

Here is last year’s NSale post. I also love this candle set as a gift to the kids teachers! Ask me any questions in the comments or email me any questions. This is a great week to stock up on Christmas, hostess and birthday gifts!

Every year I think QUALITY over QUANTITY. We don’t need more stuff, we need to shop smarter. I don’t always pick the cheapest things, but I will choose the investment buys and smart buys. Trust me, you will thank me in the long run!
