Men’s Fall Fashion Must-Haves

Last week we were in Milan for Milan Fashion Week, so I picked up some essentials like I usually do before a trip from Nordstrom. Honestly, one of my favorite things to do this time of year is update mine and the hubs’ closet with all the fall essentials. If he reacts with sticker shock, I remind him of the item’s cost per wear and he usually agrees with me in the end.

Shopping for the kids is obviously fun too, but there’s something about shopping for Reid that takes me back to when we were dating. Does that sound crazy? Ha! Anyway, I think he appreciates it just as much as I like doing it for him. And where’s the best place for men’s fall fashion you ask? Nordstrom!
You know Nordstrom is my go-to place for everything, so of course I shop there for my husband too! If I’m not sure on size, I’ll buy both sizes because their customer service is unparalleled and returns are a breeze. Here are the essentials I stocked up on for him this year:


Henleys

Is there anything sexier than your man wearing a good henley? It just feels kind of rugged but still stylish at the same time. Plus Reid loves them because they’re super comfortable and he can wear them with pretty much anything.


Layers

Layer a good sweater or jacket over that henley and your guy will be looking very sharp. It’s a great casual weekend look or easy to throw on when you’re traveling too!


A good Chelsea boot

Chelsea boots are just as much of a must for men as they are for women if you ask me! I recommend picking up a neutral pair that he’ll be able to wear with any shade of denim.

Which is your favorite? Look 1 or 2? I like both but this gray blazer fit so well on him, I tend to lean to the blazer. Both layers were great for the weather in Milan. It was around 60 degrees and perfect for jeans, tee’s and sweaters or blazers. Once you have the basics down, you can easily build a chic wardrobe for the man in your life. And it’s all found at Nordstrom.

My in-laws are in town and date nights were the original plan. However, life had other plans. Levi got sick and won’t let go of me, so goodbye freedom and yummy Italian food at Gales alone with Reid. Oh well, my mother-in law organized my kitchen cabinets so I can’t complain too much. We got a raincheck for a date night at Gale’s.

I found this polka dot camisole online on sale — love the print. It came with a skirt that I also ordered. However, it didn’t look good on me. So I styled it with my old favorite denim, practical hat (in this 100 degree heat) and pink blush sandals.

chucks under $20

These couple weeks my 4th has been struggling getting his shoes on, not finding them and just overall freaking out when I utter the words, “time to go, get your shoes on!” I’ve since purchased him two pairs of new shoes. One were cute olive green velcro pair and the other, Converse chucks my husband picked up from the NSALE. I was pleasantly surprised. As for the Converse chucks, he was able to get on in 30 seconds and out the door. This alleviates a lot of stress in our house. To say the least. There is still a lot available on the NSALE!     July 19, was the first day of Public Access sale. Boy, the stores were busy and it was a little crazy! Don’t be discouraged if something you loved is out of stock. They will most likely re-stock. Makes me want to go on a big trip somewhere cold wearing all my fall clothes. Or perhaps you live in a cold area and dying to get your hands on some stylish layers.     Tips on how to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

    My favorite sale of the year is here. Icon and Ambassadors get an early preview to shop today at 9:30 PST and 12:30 EST. This year is a big selection I must say. Lots of goodies. But honestly, I’m most excited about the boots.

    Since they did things differently this year, allowing the Icon and Ambassador levels to shop first, THINGS WILL SELL OUT FASTER THAN USUAL. Which takes me to my first tip:

    1. BUY NOW, RETURN LATER. If you’re on the fence about size or color, my advice would be to buy it (if available) and return one if necessary. It’s more important you get the item, right?
    2. GET THE CARD. Are you a Nordstrom Card holder? I’m NOT a fan of having multiple credit cards, but I got this one 2 years ago just for this sale. I never keep a balance and only use it for this sale. What I’m trying to say, is, it is worth it. And I get multiple $20 notes in the mail because I spend so much during this sale for you girls. Sorry Reid.

    I’m loving these pj’s, this bag, and super soft pullover for colder areas that always sells out. I would size up for a roomier fit. I also picked up these ear crawler earrings in gold and this gold bar pendant for $52.

    Here’s a sneak peek of what I got from the sale yesterday. I have 5 bags and I had to have curbside pick up to help me get everything in my car. Phew, that was a workout!

    Sunday Best on a Tuesday

    After being gone a whole week, we were more than happy to see the 4 kiddos this weekend. We enjoyed a morning at church with papa, and an afternoon at the nursery buying plants and driving up to Lake Arrowhead. We planted (my favorite) raspberry bushes that take me back to playing Candy Land on my grandma’s porch snaking on raspberries while the air smelled like roses. Ah to be 5 again! We got a lot accomplished. Well my dad and Reid did while I nursed Levi. We also brought up 3 paint colors to try on the Lake Arrowhead cabin.
