After a ruffle-white-clad summer, I’m all about donning the leopard and parading the bell sleeves. And did I mention, both pieces are under $50? Fall has me craving leopard styled with some of my favorite black pieces: black pumps and a classic mock neck. Furthermore, treat leopard like Kool-Aid – add lots of water (aka solid colors) if you want to play it down Jackie O. style. I prefer all black, denim or white! Last week, I had the privilege in between shows and meetings, a stop at the landmark Grand Central Station. It was a first for me and so iconic! The giant windows, the chandeliers and overall stunning room was breathtaking. One of the many reasons I love charming New York city, despite the humidity that killed my hair. True story.

Who doesn’t love a couple of Fall scores? I’m always searching for lace-up sweaters, durable (ahem, flattering) faux leather leggings, and lace up boots … all of which I’m wearing here. I’m always telling friends and followers that it doesn’t take lots of money to refresh your wardrobe if you invest in the basics. And this chunky knit goodness is under $50, leggings are under $100 and my (go-to) lip stain is $24. How’s that for Friday Faves?

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from NYFW this week, it’s that prints, billowing sleeves, and neck ties are going nowhere. Invest in a dress now with either the above, play with neutral or oxblood accessories. Add a trench for when the temperature dips and revel in the compliments. This is our last day in NYC, can’t wait to show you more from my week. Happy Monday!

Off to pizza to celebrate the hubs before we leave for New York. But first, below are 5 patchwork faves from around the web. If patchwork booties aren’t reason enough to give this trend a whirl, the fact that it only requires minimal styling with a denim shirt or white tee should do the trick. Or in this case, I paired it with a dress vest. Violà, weekend ready!

Although there’s little to no transition in seasons here in SoCal, we’ll be the family pretending with a trip to the pumpkin patch and pumpkin spice lattes. I’m told the latter really works in getting on that “fall mood” despite the 88 degree temps. If you’re wondering how to make this outfit work for legit cooler temps, think long blazer and black booties. Easy as (pumpkin) pie.

Are you still reeling from the weekend and need some outfit inspo? Fall is a great time to experiment with proportions and layering and can be dressed up or down. I’m planning on wearing this combo with sneakers for school drop off next week. Next week!! What’s your favorite laying pieces?

This week has been a full one. Lots of changes getting ready to start school and tackling the challenge of ending our three year-old’s thumb-sucking habit. Our littlest is going though letting go of his thumb sucking habit. Honestly, so hard, but he’s three and it’s time. Disclaimer: the following tips are not fool proof, I’m not a doctor, and you need to do what works for you and your family. So, here’s my tips!

Tips for your toddler trying to quit thumb sucking

            1. Positive reinforcement – verbally reinforce how big a boy he is for not sucking his thumb. And if he/she has siblings, tell them to join in the encouragement.
            2. Watch a video about it – You Tube has some great videos for kids.
            3. Extra comfort– lots of hugs kisses – because you’re asking him to let go of a comfort … so give him lots of comfort and treats! My little guy loves mints, figure out his/her favorites and keep them on hand.

As for what I’m wearing, here are 4 boots, I recommend for fall NOW:

1. low bootie VINCE CAMUTO wear now and later with rompers and skinny jeans. repeat.

2. tall boot MATSON KNEE BOOTS I can’t wait to pair with a suede skirt

3. chelsea boot STEVE MADDEN a classic with great height and tone.

4. Everyone needs a wild card. This fringe boot from TOPSHOP will look great paired with culottes and cropped jeans.

You can’t beat the movement. I like to pair it simply – with classic jeans and chelsea boots. Don’t overthink it. Although I’m the queen of overthinking, I digress. If you like fall as much as I do, do yourself a favor, buy ahead, and marvel at the styling options. The cherry on top, is that it is just $25. Just stay away from your toddler’s cute lil sticky hands.
