Embroidered Skirts, Etc

Nothing gets me more excited than embroidery, ok maybe ginger kombucha, pointy flats, happy kids holding lollipops and fitting in my skinny jeans. Besides that, embroidery! Blame it on my Portuguese roots and those darn cute Portuguese costumes my mom had lying around the house. This one from Zara takes the cake, but I’m also sharing a couple faves. Take notes on this trend, it has some staying power AND the ability to match with your gray OTK boots from last year. Now that’s a keeper.

I usually have 5.5. minutes to find a jacket and some shoes and jet out of the house. I usually am sporting something like this, an off the shoulder top, jacket for chilly nights and mornings and flats!

5 More Embroidered Favorites:

Few items steal the show like embroidered denim. I’m loving this trend for three reasons:

1. its here to stay
2. it’s easy to style
3. it looks great with a crisp white shirt, and everybody’s got one of those
Here I styled it with a creme mock-neck top, camel blazer and nude heels. I took advantage of Topshop’s take home service (have you heard of it?? It is as brilliant as it sounds). As soon as I tried on the embroidered denim, I was sold. It has a super flattering fit, from thigh to ankle, and I can’t wait to wear these with black boots and a leather jacket. You wouldn’t think so, but there really are so many options. Thankfully, as a busy wife and mom, I didn’t have to leave the house to try this hot trend. Between the love and the delivery (and option for no-hassle returns), this was my kind of shopping. Thank you Topshop for partnering on this post!

And just for fun, I added my old Kelsey Daggar Brooklyn slouchy boots that always seem to go with everything. As a note, mine are sold out but I linked ones that are crazy similar.  And somehow blue on blue – changing tones and textures just simply works. I’m excited for it to be our first SoCal fourth of July. Bring on all that blueberry pie.

This dress combines all my faves: white, embroidery and off the shoulder. Great for a fast one-piece outfit that works glammed up or down.

IMG_6055It’s also my Mother’s Day dress stand in with a leather jacket resting on my shoulder and black sandals. A chic laid back look for a much need mama’s day off. Well, I’m at least hoping. So excited to spend next Sunday with my five favorites who made me a mama to begin with. So thankful.

Style note: it’s all about the laces and gladiators, ladies. You heard it here first.
