eBay Can’t Miss Monday

by Shalice Noel

We’d all agree, this year is not a conventional one. Who knew that we’d all be working and schooling at home simultaneously? You can only guess what is top of our wish list this year? You guessed it. Noise canceling headphones. It has been challenging to say the least, to concentrate on work when the kids are asking you where their reading books are, can you cut an apple, and can they eat their Christmas cookies. Distractions aplenty. Nod if you agree.

Enter the noise canceling headphones!! A mom’s best friend. Well, headphones, and coffee and a chair outside quiet alone. A girl can dream right?

Reid wanted ear buds for his garage workouts, so I went with the best. Bose! The sound quality is unparalleled so I felt like it was worth the splurge, it came with a limited time warranty, was certified refurbished and was competitively priced.

What are you waiting for? Shop now to get the gifts here on time. I rounded some additional gift ideas below.

I’ve written about my eBay finds a lot on the blog. What can I say? I’m kind of obsessed and just want to share all my purchases so you guys know you really can find great luxury items for less! I’ve bought everything from shoes to handbags to clothes on eBay and today I have some really amazing accessories to share.
Today’s finds include an incredible Chanel belt and a men’s watch. I got both for a fraction of the retail price and they were delivered right to my house super fast. I’ve been on the hunt for a great watch for Reid, so when I came across this one, it was a no-brainer. As for the Chanel belt, I think it’s a fun statement piece, but I didn’t want to pay full price for it. I knew I could rely on eBay to have it in stock for less!

If you’re still not convinced eBay is the place to go for luxury shopping, know they do have an amazing authenticity policy. Sellers aren’t even allowed to list something if they can’t guarantee (through eBay’s authentication process) their items to be authentic. I also put together this post last summer on how to buy authentic items from eBay. It includes five of my best tips that I’ve learned after years (decades!) of shopping on eBay. It really is such a safe and affordable platform to utilize when trying to snag luxury items for a deal!
If you have any questions about my experiences shopping on eBay, please don’t hesitate to ask in the comments!

I’m the girl who is always wanting that piece no other girl has. Whether it’s a discontinued item like a vintage thick belt, embossed Chanel bag or Isabel Marant tee that you can’t find anywhere, I usually find on eBay. And that is just one of the reasons I’ve been shopping on eBay for over 10 years.

Here, I’m wearing Isabel Marant boots I’ve searched for on and off for years. I found them at my price point and in great condition. I paired them with a Gucci belt (also can be scored on eBay), denim skirt (found on eBay), stripe top, blazer and a red lip for a little French girl chic vibe. What is on your eBay search list?

Also, don’t forget to check the daily deals, which can usually be seen on the home page. I usually check the daily deals for random specials for the whole family – even good Christmas gifts! Today was a men’s scarf under $10! You really just never know what you’ll find. I guess that’s why I love it! Afterall, 85% of all clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry and beauty products on eBay are brand-new!

I’ve been shopping eBay for about a decade, so it’s no surprise I was on there recently looking for a Burberry wrap. My friend came into town with a Burberry wrap that was a cashmere and silk blend. She brought it to our dinners and it seemed to comfortably compliment every outfit. Fact: you always look chic when you’re comfortable. I joked to her I was going to steal it from her before she left, but I was only half kidding.  Instead of stealing it, I went on eBay to find one myself. Hers was a couple years old so I knew eBay was a number one destination for vintage or past season pieces. Well, I’m happy to report, I found one! It’s warm cashmere for chilly nights, cold airplanes, and really chic.

Here, I’m wearing a Burberry wrap I’ve probably searched for on and off for years! Finally, I found one at my price point, I was able to communicate with the seller about color, condition, etc, and voilà! I love the ability to filter my search on eBay from color, price, and even filter sellers! Did you know,  85% of all clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry and beauty products on eBay are brand-new?

I can quickly navigate what I want in terms of size and color and if I want the seller to accept offers, etc, and fast. The latter is helpful in my busy household when I have 5 kids asking me to cut apples, help with homework, and ask for the tenth time if they can have more chocolate pretzels! Can you say sugar high? I’m happy to report, my wrap arrived within a matter of days and it will be seen in future #Airportstyle posts.

What’s on your eBay search? I’d love to hear.

My life is basically in the fast lane all the time. There’s no time to second guess, overthink, or overbuy (hello messy closet, I see you). With a house full of 6 (soon to be 7), we are decluttering to the tune of 5 bags a week to donations. While I feel like that’s not enough, progress is everything. It has also got me thinking about items in my closet that I wear OVER and OVER again. Like these Chloe Susanna Booties I scored on eBay.
I don’t like paying full price, so I utilize sites like eBay, Poshmark, and Rebag. They are great places to check first before you hand over the Amex for the $1300 boots. Trust me on this, do your research. I don’t usually have a ton of time, in between cutting hot dogs, arriving late to swim lessons, remembering to take my prenatal vitamin (or completely forgetting to take my prenatal vitamin)—you get the point. There really aren’t enough hours in the day.
However, I do manage to remember certain keywords to plug in like “Hermes Oran sandal size 40” or “Chloe Susanna Boot” or last week I searched, “New Nike Running shoe girls size 1″ for my daughter. I’ll usually skim the options, and if I don’t see anything, I’ll check again the next day. Consistency usually pays off with me saving money and a package at the door a couple days later. Yay for fast shipping via eBay! (not sponsored;)
So, with all of that said, here are 5 investment buys every girl should own, but always remember you don’t necessarily have to pay full price!

Bonus: I love these CHANEL slingbacks and THESE DUPES for a fraction of the price. See my post HERE on how to know you’re buying authentic.

Now, my secret’s out. It’s your turn, where are your favorite places to get used items?

As you probably know by now, eBay is a place I visit frequently for lots of designer products. Because who doesn’t love an amazing deal? This mama does, that’s for sure. I’ve scored A LOT of amazing things on eBay and I’m often asked how, specifically, “how do you know it’s authentic?” This is a totally valid question, especially in the world of online shopping. You never want to be in the position where you’re expecting a specific quality of product, but what arrives at your door doesn’t match the pictures or the price you paid.
If you’ve ever wanted to shop on eBay, but have let this fear hold you back, don’t worry! I’ve got you covered with five tips that’ll leave you wondering why you didn’t start shopping on eBay sooner!
How to buy authentic luxury items off eBay 101
1. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. It can be hard to turn away from what appears to be the perfect item. The best thing to do in these instances, though, is listen to your instincts and not buy the product.
2. Research the seller and read his/her feedback. This may feel a little time consuming, but it’s worth it to avoid buying an inauthentic product. Reviews from other buyers can be very telling, so take the time to vet sellers.
3. Compare pricing. Again, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I recommend browsing around and trying to find multiple options of whatever it is you’re looking for. This way you can compare what the sellers are asking for and then compare it to what it retails for. If there’s one option that’s significantly lower, be skeptical.
4. Note where the item is coming from. For example, if a product is coming from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan or anywhere international, I usually skip that seller and keep looking. I’ve only ever purchased from US sellers. The location of the seller can be a major red flag for authenticity, so pay close attention to this.
5. Don’t be shy about asking the seller for a serial number or receipt. I’ve found it really helpful to speak with the seller before I bid with any additional questions I may have. You have nothing to lose by doing this. Most are very kind and offer up any and all details about the product they’re selling.
If you’re still hesitant about taking on these tips, take a look at eBay Authenticate!
Happy bidding!

Chloe “Susanna” Boots from Ebay  // DL1961 Jeans // Two Penny Blue Blazer // Z Supply Tee // WhoWhatWear bag // Chloe Sunglasses

I’ve been quite a fan of shopping on eBay for many years, but I recently bought one of my best purchases yet! I finally scored one of my cult favorites—the Chloe Susanna boots. After doing some research, I pulled the trigger and found them on eBay for 1/3 of the retail price. Score! I love when I get a luxury item for a steal. No guilt and great cost per wear.
Here are some tips for scoring your next luxury find on @ebay:
1/ Contact the seller – Ask any questions you might have and make that friendly connection to let them know you like their product and have a question about it.
2/ Negotiate – If it says “make an offer” do it! I made an offer to the seller of these boots and she accepted. You never know.
3/ Get specific with your search – Search by brand and specific item names such as “Chloe Susanna boots” and “Chloe boots size 40”. The more specific, the better the results will be.
4/ Patience – Be patient and check often. If you don’t see anything you like or anything in your size, just keep checking daily. You’re bound to find something!
5/ Share tips – I have found it so helpful to talk to others who love to shop on eBay too. Learning tips and tricks from others can make all the difference! So, please share any tips you have in the comments. I’d love to hear them!
I go way back with eBay. It was the first place I sold lots of my clothes and the clothes I thrifted and I loved it! I’ve since gone back, but now to buy as well! I’m usually looking for one-of-a-kind pieces I can’t find here in LA or anywhere else online or in-store. Lately, I’ve been looking for distressed denim skirts, Gucci belt bags and cute Chanel sling backs. Searching for the perfect items can be tedious, but I usually use a variety of creative keywords to find exactly what I’m looking for along with a few other tricks I’ve learned after years of shopping and selling with eBay. I’ve included my best tips below:

1. Look for “BEST OFFERS” posts
2. Put the auction end date in your google calendar
3. Bid with weird cents like ending your amount in $.32 – who knows it could mean a winning bid for you!
4. Be patient and try to detach. 🙂 Easier said than done!
As a reminder, you can shop all my instagrams HERE.

I recently did an Ebay campaign on instagram sharing my #Fillyourcartwithcolor. I gladly obliged to work with them since I’ve long been a customer and seller on Ebay. Who doesn’t the thrill of the find? Ebay has awesome finds from Chanel sandals to Burberry trench coats. I love what I have been scoring at Ebay lately. Just today, I found a Zara denim skirt I’ve been searching for – and its coming all the way from Portugal. So cool. Another find was silk curtains for our living room. All of this in addition to the Chanel sandals I’m wearing here and Burberry short trench. I did well yes?

What are you searching for?

See more Ebay finds here: denim, and Chanel and Burberry. As a tip, be as descriptive in your search as possible for a successful search. For example, use the words “size 39, Small Burberry Trench, Chanel size 39 or 3×1 jeans.”

Forward any questions. Happy Bidding and buying xx
