ASOS

I would hang up your fringe skirts for another season and stock up on the pleats. Pleated skirts and maxi dresses move beautifully and show no signs of moving on. I, of course, love them with all black. No brainer. And if I could order them in a girl’s size 6, I’d be even more overjoyed. See also how I styled THIS olive look. Meanwhile, hubs and I are working on an exciting project, grappling with creating something completely new, teaching ourselves and staying motivated to always work hard and juggle family life. Sorry to be vague, but more details to follow. Your dreams should push you, move you to unchartered territory, and ultimately scare you. Dream big! What’s the biggest dream you’ve had?

This skirt combines some of my favorite trends right now: metallic and pleats. I love how it moves and metallic is a closet-must have. I love it paired with black and a blush heel. Get it now before New Years Eve festivities begin. Also, see how I styled this metallic ombré dress here. Happy Thursday!

This week is all about catching up on my ever growing Christmas list! I hope I’m not the only one who feels like I am always late or trying to catch up. But I must ask you, who’s the hardest person to give to on your list? Hubby, your first grade teacher, your mother, or your long distance sister? Thankfully, I racked my brain to share the top favorite gifts. What are some of yours?

Tis the season – for parties and sequin pants! I think we all know that moment when we stand in front of our closet trying to find that perfect outfit for the holiday party–pizzaz and wow, without Too Much or Overdoing it. It’s a hard balance, folks. And here is where the sequin pants make their blessed appearance. Sequin pants (the one’s I’m wearing are $25!) and a black bell sleeved top is a great choice for pretty much any holiday event. It’s classy and sparkly, and affordable! Throw in a statement heel, and you’re set. I’ve shown some fun options below. Off to enjoy some almond milk egg nog! Cheers!

Tis’ the season for velvet and plaid. The hottest combinations this holiday, and did I mention the skirt is $53? I’m loving it layered with a camel coat for an added neutral accent. I’d wear this to a holiday party or lunch with a friend. If this week’s weather continues, I’ll ditch the coat. Happy layering!

If you buy anything this week in October, make sure it’s velvet. It’s the hottest material and worn best with basics you already have in your closet: a white dress, or denim on denim. See my previous post on affordable frayed jeans. I love that the heel is low enough so I can run to school pick-up when I’m late. True story. If one has to be late, at least arrive in velvet, yes? High fives all around for sporting fall’s hottest trend a little under the $50 mark, leaving some wiggle room to go crazy Halloween costumes. More of that coming soon.

After a ruffle-white-clad summer, I’m all about donning the leopard and parading the bell sleeves. And did I mention, both pieces are under $50? Fall has me craving leopard styled with some of my favorite black pieces: black pumps and a classic mock neck. Furthermore, treat leopard like Kool-Aid – add lots of water (aka solid colors) if you want to play it down Jackie O. style. I prefer all black, denim or white! Last week, I had the privilege in between shows and meetings, a stop at the landmark Grand Central Station. It was a first for me and so iconic! The giant windows, the chandeliers and overall stunning room was breathtaking. One of the many reasons I love charming New York city, despite the humidity that killed my hair. True story.

Are you still reeling from the weekend and need some outfit inspo? Fall is a great time to experiment with proportions and layering and can be dressed up or down. I’m planning on wearing this combo with sneakers for school drop off next week. Next week!! What’s your favorite laying pieces?

It’s really unusual to find a date night dress I don’t hate for under $40. But I did the research for you and here it is. Plus, if you’re looking for some day date (or date night) eats, here’s my short list I-can’t-wait-to-try:

Life is too short not to know about ASOS under $50 scores. I mean, SO GOOD. Tip: If you’re unsure about sizing, order both. You can easily return the one that doesn’t fit since there is free shipping both ways. My mailman is sweet enough to take my returns or I pack the kids in the car and drive to our post office a couple blocks away. Either way, it’s pretty easy!
