Its amazing what a good maxi dress can do when you’re sporting minimal makeup but great accessories to boot. I wore this to last night’s event with Febreze and HeyMama and I got tons of compliments. At 35 weeks, it unusual to find such a great dress that works the angles and flatters the bump. What I love about this dress is that it can be worn after baby, win!

5 week coundown begins now!

If you know me well, I gravitate to some of the same favorites: a tee shirt dress and booties being among them. This cardigan and booties are on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I’m hooked! This cardigan will also look great with jeans and comes in ivory and gray. Size down since it runs large. Off to Lake Arrowhead for a long weekend. Hoping to get some rest after a long week!

Happy Saturday!

I found this camisole top with cute laser cut for upcoming summer weekends. I also was happy I fit into this rose sleeveless body con maxi. So comfy!

The season of dresses all day, every day is upon us! And let me tell you, that is amazing news for someone with a growing bump (although none of these options are maternity, which makes them even better!). I love this time of year because all my favorite brands are releasing their new dresses for summer, so the time to stock up is now!
Today I’ve rounded up some of my favorites for you guys so you’ll be ready for all the summer weddings and brunch dates on restaurant patios. Of course there’s plenty of floral options because who doesn’t love floral for spring and summer? I’m also a big fan of the wrap dress, so I’ve included that style as well. I find that it’s just really flattering on any body type.
The best part of this roundup? They’re all under $50! No need to feel guilty for this mini little shopping spree! The price point is super wallet friendly and saves enough for that beach vacation. 😉
Thank you Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!

I don’t know about you, but I love a good selfie. I don’t always need the photo taken with the big camera to appreciate an outfit. I like styling pieces on the go, and as you know, my life, like yours, is very much ON the GO! I was happy to find long distressed shorts to wear this summer with a bella band, a wrap dress under $50, flattering black jeans and lots of irresistible shoes! I thought I’d share them here too on the blog. As always my shop page is open 24/7, you can follow me on the LiketoKnow.it App, and ask any questions. Happy Tuesday!

Raise your hand if you’re in favor of not wearing maternity clothes while pregnant? I know I am. I went through 4 pregnancies buying very little to no maternity clothes. I either sized up in dresses and tops or opted for low rise boyfriend jeans. I found dresses I wore as tunics over leggings. And mind you ALL of my pregnancies thus far have been in freezing Chicago, so layering was essential, and people often didn’t know I was pregnant under ALL the layers. HA!

The practicality in me loves wearing clothes I’ll wear postpartum. Below are some tips to stay OUT of stretchy pants and sweats all 9 months, and still look CHIC 😉 I remember looking at pregnant women and thinking, she probably doesn’t know how adorable she looks!! After all, a woman pregnant is (even if she doesn’t feel like it) at her most beautiful and glowing self. She’s holding a little miracle!

SHOPPING TIPS

  1. BUY BASICS and size up like this dress, t-shirts, t-shirt dresses, sweater dresses worn as a tunic, etc.
  2. Opt for LOW RISE jeans
  3. Its a win-win when you invest in chic NON-MATERNITY clothes to be worn after pregnancy

Those who know we well know I LOVE salad like a crazy person. It’s true. So naturally I have at least 3 salad dressing recipes that will have you eating so much lettuce you’ll make Peter Rabbit jealous. Just saying.

Also, if you’re looking for a salad dressing to dress up broccoli or broccolini for your kids or hubby, try these first. My kids love the balsamic dressing. It stays a week in the jar but we usually use a full recipe so I always make it fresh.

Without further adieu, here’s my top 3 on major rotation, and yes my kids are FANS!

Balsamic Vinaigrette (recipe can be doubled)

Mince 2 cloves of garlic and add the following ingredients in a small jar with lid:

1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

2 T balsamic vinegar

1 t. sugar

1/2 t. salt

Shake vigorously and serve. Store in fridge up to a week.

Oriental Dressing ( from my Mother-in-Law)

4 T sugar

1 t salt

2 t. soy sauce

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

6 T white vinegar

Combine in a lidded jar and shake well.

Lemon Dijon – sounds funky but so fresh and yummy!

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard.

1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic.

3 tablespoons champagne vinegar.

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

1/2 cup good olive oil.

I also like this simple version: Lemon Dijon

I never wanna stay in sweats all day said no one ever! I found a way to still feel super comfy but up the chic factor. I recently found sounds comfy sweatshirts and I love it paired with flared jeans! To make the whole ensemble feel chic and pulled together, I added a hat and floral platform heels. The latter of which I don’t wear when I’m running the kids around, to be honest, I wear pink sneakers daily!

I love how LA designers Lauren Alexander and April Leight keep re-thinking cozy basics. The t-shirt gets an upgrade with a fresh cutout. It’s a modern cut coupled with a cozy fabric. Which is your favorite?

How was your Christmas? Reid and I enjoyed our slowest and sweetest Christmas yet. We were surrounded by my lovely in-laws and lots of LEGO’s. I would be lying if I said I haven’t stepped on them. But speaking of stepping, these boots are my fave and one of my wardrobe staples, and this dress is quickly a favorite for its flattering fit, tulip hem and under $60 price!
