Once a week we go on a day date which involves running errands to places like Home Depot and then rewarding ourselves with our new obsession: iced green boba tea. It’s sort of my new favorite date despite the extra long time spent staring at 2×4’s at Home Depot. Occasionally, I switch up this cute lace off the shoulder dress by wearing it as a tunic. I found it at Nordstrom Rack, which you gotta love as a go-to destination for affordable basics. They have a great selection and carry some of my favorite brands like rag + bone. You just have to shop fast because things sell out fast. And if you’ve followed me for a while, you know my favorite combination is rips, lace and nude sandals. Thankfully, I can always find at least one of those at the Rack. After all, you look best in what you FEEL like wearing.

IMG_1464FullSizeRenderIt’s no secret I love all things denim. And denim that is frayed is, well, you know, a major bonus. This top has been sold out and now it is back in stock! Just wanted to let you know first. Now, back to getting ready for the Monday rush after a short getaway to Palm Springs. Which was a little crazy but well worth the adventure. What did you do this weekend, any adventures?  XO

I’ve been thinking lately about how less is more and how that translates in fashion … basically, there should be less junk and MORE quality pieces. Amen? After all, there’s no shame in ringing in summer with a worthy splurge. Especially if it is one that you will wear over and over and over again. See 5 of my favorite “investment buys” below.

1. Pierre Hardy (contrast details on point!)

2. Stella star bag (so adorable)

3. Chloé elsie (love this pop of color)

4. Stella denim crossbody (a classic that doesn’t take itself too seriously)

5. Ferragamo marisol (I like it with cutoffs and a flowy top)

IMG_1058 FullSizeRenderIMG_1284 I must admit, I’m most guilty of over-wearing jewelry pieces. Because let’s face it, time is of the essence. For those of you who said “amen,” below is 5 versatile jewelry pieces that go from cocktails to park dates without a hitch, (and how I wore them).

If I’m honest, I used to be the one in line at a big box retailer at 5:30 AM, not even sure what I was going for, but it was exciting. Not anymore. Now that I have kids and the hubs has that day off, my idea of the Friday after Thanksgiving is stay in bed in my sweats and shop online. Or pack for LA. Here’s a shortlist of what I actually have and am ordering. Simple as that. The sale starts November 26, and goes to November 30. Annnnnnd free shipping and free returns are always a bonus. Enjoy this special time with family and friends.
Thankful for you all! XO

It’s been one of those weeks. We are renovating our kitchen and eating out more than I’d like to admit. So, getting ahead on my Christmas shopping list is not even on my radar. Thankfully, Talbots has some items I know my mom and sisters will love. Like this versatile chambray, buffalo check scarf and faux fur infinity scarf. So cute with a wool coat or cozy knit.

Check out more from Talbots for your holiday shopping! See my picks below:

My outfits usually reflect my mood. When I’m feeling low key and still need to look pulled together, I pull out my trusty turtleneck and tall boots that pop. I love this combo with shift dresses, suede skirts and here with jeans. I plan on buying them in bulk for my girls to layer under their school uniforms. Here’s hoping they’ll take their mama’s advice.

The silver lining to dipping temps? Why faux fur of course. I can’t get enough of them worn over jeans or dresses. Here’s my top four that I’ll be reaching for come forty-nine degrees, that is, besides a venti hot chocolate with extra whip. What are some of your faves?

1. Blush faux fur that’s sporty and sweet? yes please. (ANTHROPOLOGIE)

2. Nothing beats a faux fur collar, well, maybe an Aquazzura sample sale. Just sayin. (F21)

3. The bigger the coat, the skinnier your legs look. Not a fact, but worth a try. (ASOS)

4. The kind of faux fur that fakes you out, glams you up, and never leaves you disappointed. (ELIZA J)

IMG_3954I caught up with Rachel Zoe at the Sorel Boot store in NYC this week and was able to jog her brain for fall’s finest, but just one must have. Her response? Boots! I quickly asked which boots, to which she replied, she preferred over the knee but really all. I happen to agree. If boots are what you’ll will be wearing 24/7 come next week Fall, here’s your guide to chic (in seven ways to be exact):

1. This is the kind of dress that can be worn with boots and a turtleneck or a blouse. Or tie dye shirt from high school. Your call.

2. This dress in navy or wine perfectly compliments over the knee boots. And under $50. Score.

3. A fringe over the knee boot in black that has texture and movement, love.

4. The gold details on this suede bootie are everything. Think foot jewelry. Just as much bang, less buck HERE.

5. This weather worn ankle boot has just enough buckle and point to win in the effortless chic department.

6. These black over the knee boots are just classic and worn over and again.

7. Hold onto your hat, this color and shape is everything.

Although this week consisted of nursing sick kids back to health and getting ready for my in-laws to come to town, there was something magical in the air:  new warmth and longer days. I love spring! To me, spring is synonymous with white pants although I’m better at styling them than keeping them white. Hello shout wipes! These pants epitomize effortless chic paired with a silk blouse and easily transition from church to date night before you can say palm crop top. But anything that elongates the leg, (hello nude heel), and universally flatters the skin tone, is worth keeping around. Yes? Now, we need the sequel to The Long Winter.

Cheers to spring!
