The one item that is always on my must buy, must stock up, and must pack list is stripes. I happen to love them just as much on my six year old. Maybe more so. Paired with suede, jeans, or tough girl leather, you can’t go wrong. To be honest, sleeves are waaay to hot for NYC, but come next month we will be ready for them.  So ready.

What a whirlwind of trip meetings and get-togethers.  THE TIME HOTEL was central and gorgeous; there was great service, yummy room service breakfasts for when you run out of time (um, everyday), and a sleek design. And don’t forget to try Serafina Restaurant on the first floor. Thankfully I was back just in time to play tooth fairy, share pictures and let my littles unwrap touristy NYC key-chains. Their favorites! Next time, NYFW! Check out what I wore and favorite places I went below. Feel free to add your own.

THE TIME HOTEL :: great central location to shows and Midtown meetings.

IRVING FARM COFFEE ROASTERS 71 Irving Place, so quaint and great for meetings.

TACOMBI NOLITA 267 Elizabeth St, the cutest Mexican on Elizabeth and they use organic ingredients! I got their margarita with extra salt.

LA COLOMBE SOHO 270 Lafayette, I just love SOHO! This was a fun stop for cold brew.

I’m sharing how I wear my Hanes bras and underwear: the boy briefs, hipsters, and comfy bras without wires – from getting ready to going out. The second installment in the series with Hanes #becomfydent.  Let’s get started, below are my 4 tips:

1. Say goodbye to discomfort. Let’s be real, most mornings, I want to stay in bed and not get into that uncomfortable ____. What is it for you? Tight jeans? Misfitting bra? A bra with an itchy tag? Take it out of your closet and bag it up. Donate the whole bag or place it in the corner of your room till you get sick of looking at it. Believe me, this works. You eventually can’t stand to look at it and then out the door it goes. Check out Hanes Ultimate Perfect Coverage ComfortFlex Fit Wire-Free Bra and Cool Comfort Hipster Panties

2. Don’t feel badly about lack of color. I own a ton of black and white. I invest and stock up on good pieces like white tops and black jeans. See them as the backbone of your wardrobe. Check out Hanes Cotton Jersey Scoop Tank (I have in white)

3. Keep it minimal. Those who follow me know that my jewelry is simple and minimal at best. Let’s be real, I’m a mom, so things get caught when I’m doing the laundry or holding a child. I like to keep it simple and not have to worry about one more thing.

4. Take a selfie. It helps to do this before you leave the house for a last minute check of your outfit. After I take a selfie of my outfit, I sometimes eliminate an accessory, change my bag, or take off earrings. Comfort is king! Join me by sharing your comfy (and chic) look by using the hashtag: #becomfydent.

As a heads up, I’m partnering with Hanes for a couple months sharing how I, as a busy mom, wear comfy undergarments and tees.

Thank you Hanes for partnering on this post.

Start somewhere. They say it takes two weeks to create good habits. I recently got back into running. So hard. But beyond the benefits to the body, I started to see other benefits  – clearer thinking and better sleep.

2. Run to a fun destination. I’m a bored runner so I need music and a destination. I found I run better knowing I have a destination.

3. Add wall sits to your run. Warning, they’re killer! What are they? Lean up against a wall with your feet shoulder width apart and knees are bent at 45 degrees. Hold them for 30-60 seconds. Work your way up to 10 sets. Switch it up. Maybe try jump roping next week. Stay fresh.

4. Add new workout gear. This is probably the most fun part of working out for me. Changing it up with fresh gear like this top and bottom from VARLEY are definitely a game changer. Whatever works to keep you healthy and motivated is the key.

Good Luck! What are your tips to staying motivated?

This week has been a full one. Lots of changes getting ready to start school and tackling the challenge of ending our three year-old’s thumb-sucking habit. Our littlest is going though letting go of his thumb sucking habit. Honestly, so hard, but he’s three and it’s time. Disclaimer: the following tips are not fool proof, I’m not a doctor, and you need to do what works for you and your family. So, here’s my tips!

Tips for your toddler trying to quit thumb sucking

            1. Positive reinforcement – verbally reinforce how big a boy he is for not sucking his thumb. And if he/she has siblings, tell them to join in the encouragement.
            2. Watch a video about it – You Tube has some great videos for kids.
            3. Extra comfort– lots of hugs kisses – because you’re asking him to let go of a comfort … so give him lots of comfort and treats! My little guy loves mints, figure out his/her favorites and keep them on hand.

As for what I’m wearing, here are 4 boots, I recommend for fall NOW:

1. low bootie VINCE CAMUTO wear now and later with rompers and skinny jeans. repeat.

2. tall boot MATSON KNEE BOOTS I can’t wait to pair with a suede skirt

3. chelsea boot STEVE MADDEN a classic with great height and tone.

4. Everyone needs a wild card. This fringe boot from TOPSHOP will look great paired with culottes and cropped jeans.

Sometimes the perfect ruffle LWD needs nothing but the simplest styling: cargo jacket, red bag, and nude lace ups. And if you’re a busy mom like me, you swap out the heels for sneakers  with a LWD to chase the toddler, and still look chic. Even after labor day.

2016_07_28_ShaliceNoel10-385-Edit 2016_07_28_ShaliceNoel10-624-Edit Believe it or not, it’s back to school time! I would venture to say that usually this doesn’t mean great excitement or big smiles. But if we’re searching for the silver lining–and we are–then the best part about Back to School is the shopping. Since my littles have uniforms, we have fun finding pieces that suit each child’s personality and style. A big hit with my middle little were these Steve Madden
JSM1 sneakers: purple, covered in glitter, and perfect for climbing and running. Since purple glitter really isn’t my thing, I went with the versatile Steve Madden “Austin” chelsea boot. It is a well-known fact that in shopping, everyone should win. Shop our look from Steve Madden Kids at Dillard’s.

Thank you Steve Madden for partnering on this post.

If you know me well, I’m not huge into overalls, but I made an exception for these flared, über flattering version I paired with an off-the-shoulder top, clogs and a small tassel bag. What do you think? A 70’s upgrade to a classic farmer’s bibs. I guess you could say I’m converted.

It’s really unusual to find a date night dress I don’t hate for under $40. But I did the research for you and here it is. Plus, if you’re looking for some day date (or date night) eats, here’s my short list I-can’t-wait-to-try:
