Calling all pink lovers, I’m loving all things velvet, and pink is no exception. I love playing with one color, many textures and countless shades. Practically speaking, later, this tank and coat can later be paired with black jeans for a casual holiday party. This outfit is a testimony to the fact that three pieces (tank, skirt and coat) are all under $70, and can be luxed up with choice luxury accessories. Violà! Pink on a budget.

I’m so happy it’s Friday! I often get asked, what do you wear with velvet or embellished heels? Well, lots of stripe ruffles and black jeans. It’s a comfy outfit for farmer’s market or brunch with our friends. Also, I’ll be cleaning my closet and getting organized. Anyone like shop my closet?

Ps. Don’t forget to check my shop page.

Tis’ the season for velvet and plaid. The hottest combinations this holiday, and did I mention the skirt is $53? I’m loving it layered with a camel coat for an added neutral accent. I’d wear this to a holiday party or lunch with a friend. If this week’s weather continues, I’ll ditch the coat. Happy layering!

I’m often asked, how to style a plaid coat. Well, if you’re more like a black coat type of person, have no fear. A lot of basics and neutrals tone down the craziest of coats. First step is a suede skirt, neutral top (I like a touch of ruffle under $70!), and brown bootie. A combo I can wear to church, birthday parties and meetings. Really the simplest outfits make the biggest impact. Shop this look at Nordstrom, and as always my shop page. Happy Humpday!

Everyone has their own makeup routine, and I promise I’m not trying to mess with it. Scout’s honor. But I’m always picking up new tricks (impossible NOT to do in LA) and changing things up in the hopes of finding that Greater Beauty and thought I’d share some of them. I’m often changing up my routine as my skin changes with the seasons. I must admit, I’m no pro and am definitely still learning the best techniques from various brushes to the smoothest finish. But time, ya’ll. There is no time. So before school drop off I have roughly 5-11 minutes to get ready, so I don’t mess around. First step is concealer. I dot it around the middle of the forehead and under the eyes. I smooth it in with my blending  or foundation brush. Next, I pump one to two pumps of foundation onto my left hand, dab it with the foundation brush, and apply it in circles starting at the side jaw and working my way up. Side note, my skin is naturally oily and this foundation leaves no oily residue with its matte finish. Once the face is covered, I finish with finishing powder using the largest and softest brush. All day I get good coverage. Also, I use a make-up setting spray to hold my foundation in the hot SoCal conditions. A quick swipe of lip balm, a few strokes of mascara, and voila. The face is on. Anybody else have any no-fail secrets or techniques? Don’t hold out on us, people!

I linked all of the products I used here:

I partnered with Nordstrom to share some affordable Fall essentials. I love a good striped sweater, ripped jeans and raspberry heels. The best part is, these picks don’t break the bank! This sweater is only $66, the jeans are on sale, and this camel coat can be styled a billion ways. Just look at my grams. There you have it: 3 Fall essentials leaving you extra moolah for mistletoe.  Hope you have a cozy Monday!

Thank you Nordstrom for partnering on this post!

Even though we moved to southern California, I refuse to give up all the knits and cardigans. Namely the oversize ultra-cozy layer known as the boyfriend cardigan. I prefer it in a marled oversize knit over just about anything. <Sigh,> I love Fall. Monday, I may throw it over a lacey cami, Wednesday over a striped tee, Friday, over a mock neck turtleneck. As much as the options are endless on top, they are also on bottom. For example, you can wear the cardi over jeans (I prefer skinny’s or THESE to balance the oversize cardigan), coated faux leather jeans, leggings, or sailor shorts. Despite Fall temps only lasting till 10am PST on a given day, I will relish every hour of it, with a cup of tea in hand.

Two styles that are always on-trend but will always remain classics are military blazers and stripes. I’m a huge fan of the military look and a HUGE fan of Topshop. It’s no lie as a majority of my grams have at least one Topshop piece. Have you noticed? I’ll tell you why: they are affordable, on-trend, and carry a vast variety of day-to-night looks. Let’s face it, gold buttons make my heart skip a beat. Whether you’re a fan of the military look or just need to update your stripes, you can’t go wrong with this classic look. If you’re headed to date night cocktails, ditch the jeans and pair the blazer with a dress. I also linked a couple Topshop picks at Nordstrom. What are some of your favorites?

I plan to wear this top with these jeans to hang out with my cousin and the fam this weekend. And layer it with a trench, because it’s officially layering season. Hallelujah! My favorite season even if it means more palm trees than falling leaves. Hello SoCal Fall. As a reminder, check out my shop page with pieces of what I’m wearing and styling. I update it daily. There’s nothing I like more than an all-white workout outfit. And nothing motivates me more to workout than a new outfit. Thank you Nordstrom for the awesome selection of activewear! This all-white workout outfit is super comfy and perfect for tennis with the kids (who have just started lessons), and a quick run. I love that Nordstrom makes returns so easy – so I’m able to order multiple sizes to try and return what doesn’t fit without leaving my house. What inspires you to workout? My piano teacher growing up once told me a nugget of truth I’ll never forget: “to begin, is to be half done.” While it’s not completely true, it sure motivates me to start. And sometimes that little push is all I need to hit the pavement.

Also, see my shop page for more workout selections.
