I recently joined the amazing Heymama network as a member. One of the founders, Katya Libin asked me,  “What are your must haves for the Fall?”
If you ask me what my favorite season it is, I’ll say, hands down FALL. The fashion, the apple picking, the slight crisp in the air (if you live in an area with 4 seasons), and the jeans and a tee shirt weather will always be my favorite.

2. Something leopard like these rad pants – ie Leopard skirt
5. Small Shoulder Bag I love that this one is double sided and this under $300 version is so pretty! I’m downsizing my mom bag as small bags are having a real moment, don’t miss it. Tip: If you buy a designer bag, opt for a neutral color, it will go with more outfits and you’ll get better cost per wear.
8. Something camouflage – depending on the brand, I like to size up on a camo jacket and belt it over a maxi dress or jeans. How cute is this camo cardigan?
Fashion isn’t always practical – hello ripped jeans on a 20 degree day and cut out tees, yup, I’m just as guilty for paying for a distressed ripped up tee. But how practical is an oversize blazer that fits like a glove and over the bum, high rise jeans (that won’t show your backside while kissing your kindergartener goodbye at school), and a COZY teddy coat? Sorry for that run-on. Ladies, good news, fashion is in our favor this fall, embrace it and these 9 must haves. I obviously won’t be a Fashion Week this year but will be watching the shows on my laptop, hopefully while nursing a cute babe.
Expect a filtering of the trends and showing you only what is your precious time and resources. Expect those posts along with some family and lifestyle content you have requested. I plan to post 3x a week, during maternity leave so stay tuned!

We kicked off our babymoon at the Langham Pasadena with cream tea time in The Club Lounge. The baby and I enjoyed cream, berries and English tea with cream and a cube of sugar, YUM!

It happened to be a really hot week here in Pasadena, so we waited until the sun came down a little to enjoy dinner at the Royce. Reid wanted to celebrate with a steak, I really just wanted a veggie burger. I ended up compromising on this one.

We had a corner room with a view over the pool and the San Gabriel Mountains. The grounds and gardens here are botanical and simply breathtaking! I mean, what would it feel like to get married here? You can’t help but notice the manicured lawns with paths that meander through the beauty. I told Reid, time stood still a little today, and that’s not a bad thing.

For day 2, we made a beeline to the club lounge for some potato and garlic scrambled eggs, a plethora of berries, fresh lattes (steamed almond milk upon request), muesli, fresh smoothies—you get the idea. YUMMY. After breakfast, we stopped by the pool and hot tub to cool down. I love the size of the hotel, it’s big but it doesn’t feel huge. They also had yoga outside for the community and supplied cold water by the pool and the staff is super friendly. I definitely will be back. Maybe with my party of 7 ;).

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale can be overwhelming, so here’s a short guide to the women’s department! I can’t wait to wear some of these layers up at Lake Arrowhead and booties come fall. Which are your favorites?

I go way back with eBay. It was the first place I sold lots of my clothes and the clothes I thrifted and I loved it! I’ve since gone back, but now to buy as well! I’m usually looking for one-of-a-kind pieces I can’t find here in LA or anywhere else online or in-store. Lately, I’ve been looking for distressed denim skirts, Gucci belt bags and cute Chanel sling backs. Searching for the perfect items can be tedious, but I usually use a variety of creative keywords to find exactly what I’m looking for along with a few other tricks I’ve learned after years of shopping and selling with eBay. I’ve included my best tips below:

1. Look for “BEST OFFERS” posts
2. Put the auction end date in your google calendar
3. Bid with weird cents like ending your amount in $.32 – who knows it could mean a winning bid for you!
4. Be patient and try to detach. 🙂 Easier said than done!
As a reminder, you can shop all my instagrams HERE.

There are 4 classics every closet needs.

A good stripe sweater – I prefer it to have mostly white, I’m wearing a small here

A red Trench

A red heel

Cropped jeans (they highlight the shoes better) I’m wearing a 2p here

I’ve been clearing out my closet A LOT lately so pairing things down to just the basics is très importantè. These four classics I name “classics” only because I keep going back to them. I even dress my kids in stripes – I cannot get enough. Nothing is better than topping it off with a red trench. What I love about Talbots is consistent great quality and some lovely pieces. See my other post wearing Talbots here and here.  Which is your favorite piece? All the best! xx Shalice

I’m in the midst of putting together a fall must have collection of only a max of ten items to show you guys and a blazer is among the must haves for fall. While it’s still an 80 degree fall in SoCal, you can still dress up shorts with a blazer and chic heels. I partnered with Adriana Online on social this week, but this look was too good not to share here too.

DENIM I love a good pair of denim for fall dressed up with a tank and blazer. I tend to like both dark and light denim. See some of my picks below:

BLAZERS Nothing dresses up denim like a tailored blazer over a tank. And I’m loving them in all colors. See my picks below:

Do you know when you find a dress that’s a keeper and you can’t stop wearing it? Well, I think I found it. I posted a selfie wearing it with these heels, a bootie, and today I wore it to church. It flows beautifully (meaning you can dance in it) and has a longer cut in back so no worries when bending down with the kids. For chilly evenings catching sushi with friends, add this suede jacket. Happy Sunday!

Q & A

What was your last Amazon prime order?

Bento lunch boxes for the kids peppermint oil, because I get really stiff neck and headaches, and tea.

What is the last tip your make-up artist, Lexi has given you.

Use highlighter on the bridge of your nose, center of your top lip, on your cheekbones, over the inner corners of your eyes, onto your brow bone, and center of your forehead. Lexi started using this highlighter on me.

What is the best and last diet tip you’ve shared?

Dandelion tea. It helps with water retention and I drink at least one cup a day.

Will you be sharing your workout routine?

Yes, Hubby and I will be sharing one soon, stay tuned! If you missed it, see a video on how I workout at the park!

Where do you like to go in Palm Springs?

The King’s Highway  for breakfast (I get their granola and yogurt), the Ace pool to cool down, pink door house and I’m open to hearing my readers favorites?

What’s the address of the pink door house and this house with the lions?

Good question! 1100 E Sierra Way, Palm Springs, CA 92264

What did you have for breakfast at home?

Steel cut oatmeal, almond milk, raw honey, coffee and dandelion tea.

What’s a sample diet?

Click this Q & A HERE 😉

Did you always want a big family?

I always wanted 6 children, Reid wanted 3, and God gave us 4. I feel like I’ve won the lottery with them. We have some really long days, but they are a constant blessing.

What’s your best parenting advice, or what have you learned lately that has made momlife easier?

It’s threefold: a lot of affection, some outside time whether its scooters at the park, a ride around the block, and lots of good snacks sometimes makes or breaks a day.

With 4 kids you must have a lot of mess in your house?

Haha well, we have a chore chart they have to follow, I give rewards for cleaning and when in doubt, I ask them to take something upstairs and I count how long it takes – they love it, they’re really competitive and I get things done, lol.

How do you juggle your days as a busy mom and business owner?

Not every day is the same, some days I have a sitter all day for meetings and appointments or a photo shoot, some days like today, I’m home, we make breakfast, do chores, read and I catch up on emails and write my blog posts. With that said, its not without the cries, the troubles with sharing and the struggle to fit in a workout, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I was just telling Felicia my photographer how much I love working from home – from kissing the boo-boos, applying the 5th band aid, brewing my own coffee, writing, and sending emails and styling outfits. The latter is often done around midnight but hey it works.

Few colors excite me more than red. Its such a bright and happy color that can wake up a tired color palette. I usually add a pop of red to an outfit, here I was attempting to do red head to toe, but my red bag happened to be a different red. Tones aside, I loved pairing a red dress with red flats and a circle bag, because date night should be about bold colors and the man you love. Oh and a good Thai food destination, that’s why I included 4 Thai food destinations in the LA area below:

Thai Paradise 909 W Las Tunas, San Gabriel, authentic spicy curry and good service

Sala Dang 363 S Fair Oaks, Pasadena, yummy yellow curry and great menu. We love taking friends from out of town here.

President Thai  498 S Rosemead, Pasadena, I’ve never been, but its been recommended and I can’t wait to try!

Thai Purple 27 W Garfield, Alhambra, Yummy curry and rice, I get the red curry, hubby gets the yellow.

What’s your go-to date night dress?

Above most outfits, I love layers. A good tank with a stripe button down or cardigan is my jam. These two weeks, I’ve been dropping off and picking up kids from soccer camp, so I haven’t had a ton of time to overthink what I’m wearing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving having the kids home and these lazy dog days of summer. We just hung out in my daughter’s room last night and chatting – all four of them. It really felt like a lazy summer which I love. So an oversize tank, fave rips, and optional layering in the AC it is. We’re dropping off the kids at VBS and going to get pho. Can’t wait. What are your weekend plans?
