Distressed Coated Denim: 7FAM

These 7 For All Mankind jeans are the gems I’ve been looking for when it comes to coated denim. When I first saw them I got a very downtown-meets-uptown-meets-errands vibe, which I’m kinda all about. To be sure they were as amazing as I thought, I took them on a test drive through the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles. Yep! I was right and I love them so much I can barely take them off! They’re the perfect marriage between faux leather leggings and distressed denim. This pair runs slightly large, so I sized down, but the slim fit is great, especially with oversized loungewear.

For this look, I stayed with 7FAM and paired the coated denim with this super luxurious leopard coat with faux fur trim and finished it off with patent booties. I love this outfit, but I definitely can’t wait to wear the jeans with sneakers and camel coats, too. That is if the temps ever decide to dip—wishful thinking in SoCal. We’ll see. Now, I can’t wait for a night out!

Date night should be extra special and this lace dress caught my eye since its a beige shade, a lot like my friend’s Mrs Self Portrait dress without the price tag. I like to skimp somewhere to splurge on the accessories like this JW Anderson bag. I love that this neutral ensemble can also be worn at a wedding. See more wedding inspiration here and here. Little Red Dress x Datenight

Few colors excite me more than red. Its such a bright and happy color that can wake up a tired color palette. I usually add a pop of red to an outfit, here I was attempting to do red head to toe, but my red bag happened to be a different red. Tones aside, I loved pairing a red dress with red flats and a circle bag, because date night should be about bold colors and the man you love. Oh and a good Thai food destination, that’s why I included 4 Thai food destinations in the LA area below:

Thai Paradise 909 W Las Tunas, San Gabriel, authentic spicy curry and good service

Sala Dang 363 S Fair Oaks, Pasadena, yummy yellow curry and great menu. We love taking friends from out of town here.

President Thai  498 S Rosemead, Pasadena, I’ve never been, but its been recommended and I can’t wait to try!

Thai Purple 27 W Garfield, Alhambra, Yummy curry and rice, I get the red curry, hubby gets the yellow.

How is your weekend? We had a last minute date Friday night and it was d-i-v-i-n-e. Date night is often running errands for us so I almost always wear jeans with the exception of some dresses I’ve shown here before. This top immediately caught my eye because of the ruffles and one shoulder design. I paired it with color block heels you have seen before on my instagram because they are so versatile. Three things I love about this top: its linen, oversize and has a corset. I got so many compliments while wearing it for date night I had to share with you. Not to mention, I paired if with black jeans that look great with summer tops. Here are some of my faves:

Date night in Omaha

One of the highlights of visiting the state of Nebraska is visiting my in-laws, and going on dates! Truth be told, we’re usually too tired after a day at the Zoo, Aquarium, visiting great-grandparents, and with our crew of 6. However, we don’t miss this this chance to go out, stress free. For this date night, I paired an under $70 fringe skirt, black tank, wrap heel, with a stripe leather bag. Comfy and chic. I mean, how simple is black and white?

Easter is Sunday, and you don’t have a lot of time to prepare, but you want something less than $100? Problem solved. Here, I wore a satin dress, suede trench and blush heels. I kept similar tones together and added a chic trench to add an overall polish. I like the idea of a dress I don’t spend a mini fortune on so I have more of a budget for shoes, a designer bag and not a mini heart attack over a coffee spill. Little Red Dress

That’s where I was hair-wise. A couple months ago we cut four inches off, mostly split ends, in the name of keeping my hair healthy. It was painful, but in the back of my head, I knew I could get length be it clip-ins or extensions. I ended up doing the former with advising from my stylist. We got 18″ color matched to my hair. And to help it blend, my stylist cut both my hair and the extensions to make it fill in nicely. It is fun and somewhat easy to install and great for shoots or events. Or take them out when I don’t want the weight. I mean, who doesn’t like options? Forward any more of your questions and I’ll try and answer them.

Besides the hubby calling me a figure skater when I first wore this, I think he really liked it. But he knows bottom line if I like something, his opinion doesn’t stand a chance. Sorry babe. With a tiered bodice, eyelash trim, and a well worn jacket, what’s not to like? Usually our favorite Gracias Madrè and a swing by Verve for black coffee ends date night. All of which helps us remember we’re in love, we’re a team, and ready to greet our cute 6am 3′ tall alarm clock.
