Happy (almost) Thanksgiving!

I partnered with Topshop, sharing some of my favorite pieces, including this versatile leopard coat and cozy stripe sweater. I’m thankful Los Angeles is giving me an excuse to bust out the layers with all this rain we got this weekend. Don’t forget a pop of white to bring out the oversize stripes. All pieces are affordable and versatile. I plan on wearing this coat over this dress for date night. What are some of your favorite pieces? Don’t forget, my shop page is updated daily. Happy Monday!

I partnered with Vince Camuto to feature their newly launched watch collection, and I’m definitely a fan. I usually look for two thing when buying a watch: I prefer either silver or gold and I love an oversize head (Swarovsky crystals are a bonus). Whether I’m attending an event or a school function, I want practical but pretty, and easily versatile. Vince Camuto’s new line has quite a few options that fall into this category. Lucky us. And if you’re like me, and thinking ahead for Christmas, go ahead and forward this watch to the hubby. Sometimes they need ALL the hints. (Also comes in gold)

Thank you Vince Camuto for partnering on this post!

Your search for the perfect blush pleated skirt is over. Not only is this modern on-trend blush steal under $100, but it’s machine washable. No really, true story. After my toddler hugged me after playing in a backyard full of dirt, I made sure to find out. There might have been a little desperation involved. So, I know. I have plans to get a couple of outfits out of this versatile piece, such as all white, frayed denim and even sneaks! The possibilities prove endless. However, if you want a pro-stylist tip, balance the midi skirt with a fitted top, preferably knotted or slightly cropped and avoid tall boots and loose tops … all of which are at Nordstrom, of course. Get yours before it sells out.

Nothing says spring like blush and lace up. Here I paired blush with more blush in a light pink blazer and the husband’s leather jacket. I love Nordstrom’s selection of spring dresses. I always order a couple because their customer service is awesome and I can always make returns without a glitch. And this spring they have a great collection of blush and lace! Weirdly enough, I used to hate pink but now I can’t get enough of it. (Maybe it was the pink bedroom I had growing up??) Regardless, everyone needs a little pink dress (LPD) in their wardrobe this spring, and a husband who lends his leather jacket is a major plus. Shop the post below:

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m no gym rat, and machines generally intimidate me. So you can imagine my excitement level at meeting with a trainer at Equinox. (It hovered around nil.) But I’m proud to say that I survived the first meeting unscathed and motivated! I met with Nick and discussed diet, health history and my usual workout … or lack thereof. We also discussed my fitness goals and what I wanted to accomplish. So, without further ado, here are my tips for Getting Started, aka Actually Getting to the Gym For Real.

  1. Set up a time with a trainer. Actual appointments are harder to forget about, and trainers will even give you a roadmap to your fitness goals. (Read more here)
  2. Be realistic. Think small and baby steps. (This is especially hard for me as I want immediate results.)
  3. Be consistent. Nick said that changes only come with dedication, as in at least 3 x a week of gym time.
  4. Be patient! Worthwhile results and good habits take time. (Yeah, so good luck with this one.)

And yes, I ‘m still sore from the Day 1 with Nick! Stay tuned for the results. I’ll keep you posted on challenges and lessons learned. Can’t wait!
